Tyrolia Peak 15 or 18

Well, I need new bindings for my hellbents, and I think these would be a good choice.

Although, I'm not quite decided on which binding would be better for me. I'm 6'2" and 210 lbs, I have a huge BSL so my DIN isn't as high, it's at 9. But with my weight and the abuse I do to bindings, I need the binding to be really tough.

For those of you that don't know, the peak 18's DIN range is 8-18, whereas the peak 15 is from 5-15.

I'm really not sure which I should go with. I may raise my DIN, but with it at 9, is the 18 overkill?

Which binding?

I picked up Deadbolt 18's (same as the Peak 18) not because I'm cranking them up to 18 but because I want them to be durable and last a long time. I'm stoked to use them next year.

The 18 will be stronger, kind of a tough call as to whether or not you need the little extra beef though. Both are great bindings.

I have the Mojo 15 and the Fischer X17 (6-17) and they're both great at 12 where they sit. Can your hellbent's survive another mount even mitch? you riped them out liek three times this season

no, 6 times, including 5 helicoiling and 1 remount. Now the cores are rotted. buying new ones for next season.

keep an eye on tramdock, i've seen 18's on there a few times in the past week or so. still priced at like 275 or something, so high, but still saving money.

it is best to be in the mid-range of the binding. so I'd go for the peak 15s. both will be pretty bomb proof, because tyrolia makes solid shit. you don't have to worry about them like you do with marker

I'm the same size as you and I ride at 13...so I understand where you're comin from. but if you doubt the 15s at all, go for the 18s. you are big enough and do ride tough enough

I would definitely get the 18. You're more than likely to raise your din over the year if you really weight that much and you ride at a 9. The 18's are more durable and from my experience with bindings heavier people will destroy cheap bindings regardless of what din they are at. You're never going to ride lower than a 9 anyway.

either one will work great for you, if you ride at 9 now, and it is working for you, what are the chances that you will bump up to a 13-14 din? A set of bindings will release the best when your din setting is in the middle of the range. So if you are gonna stay between a 9-11 go with the 15s, if you are gonna crank your DINs higher than that go with the 18s. The 18s are noticeably heavier though. Not that you will feel it too much when skiing
