Two og Norways biggest skiresorts just stated they will make helmets mandatory!

You're wrong. As I said, over a 1/4 million head injuries from vehicle collisions in the US alone each year. How many head injuries from skiing each year? Wearing helmets while in vehicles would prevent magnitudes more head injuries than wearing helmets while skiing.

I said nothing about bindings and head injuries. Bindings and general injury, yes.

Head injuries in car accidents are concussions most of the time. Helmets don't really help prevent concussions. They do prevent your head from cracking like an egg when it hits something hard.

But...if your seatbelt works and you have airbags your head shouldn't hit anything hard. So I don't see where your getting at.

Rallycar driver's, f1, and NASCAR driver's all wear helmets, and still get terrible head injuries. So again, your argument is kindve insubstantial.

I'm not taking a position on whether helmets should be mandatory or not but it's likely that a helmet saved my daughters life a few weeks ago. She was coming off a race course training run in a tuck heading back to the lift. She hit a bump that she didn't see at speed and hooked an edge and got swung into a metal fence post. She hit it with her head and chest. She was back boarded down. I got called into the EMS room. Her helmet was cracked in half. Her chest was sore and both her knees hurt. I expected the worst. I thought at a minimum she would have a concussion or other traumatic brain injury. She was fine mentally. No concussion; no TBI. Just a sprained left knee and sore ribs. I wanted to share the story and a picture of the helmet. We can debate how likely a helmet is to save your life or whether it can or can't prevent a concussion but I'm pretty sure that without a helmet, hitting a steel post with your head at speed will leave you with few good outcomes.

(sorry I already posted the story before on NS so apologies for the repeat)
