The Carinthia Classic is back for year number 2 with $20,000 on the line.

The Carinthia Classic fueled by Monster Energy returns December 21st, with one of the largest cash purses of the 2019/2020 East Coast contest season. The Carinthia Diggers, led by the one-and-only Rob Black (the mad behind Prospector), will build a one-of-a-kind plaza style setup loaded with boxes and rails right outside of the Carinthia Base Lodge. Practice and heats go down during the day, with the finals happening under the lights.


Event Schedule

1:00 p.m. - Practice Begins

1:45 p.m. - Heats are announced Inside the Carinthia Base Lodge

2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Qualifiers Start

4:45 p.m. - Finals announced inside the Carinthia Base Lodge.

5:30 p.m. Skier Finals

6:40 p.m. Snowboard Finals

7:30 p.m. Awards held outside on the Carinthia Base Lodge deck.

Registration for the Carinthia Classic is now open, with online registration $50 and day-of registration (including early registration on Friday at the Snow Barn) for $75. Registration includes a lift ticket for non-passholders.

It all kicks off on Friday, with the official pre-party taking place at the Snow Barn on December 20th., with a premiere of the Faction film “The Collective.”

Once the skiing is done on Saturday night, the party continues at The Official After Party for The Carinthia Classic at the Snow Barn. Featuring hip-hop producer Blockhead and opener Arms and Sleepers, this event will be 21+ doors at 8:00 p.m with tickets only $15 online in advance and $20 at the door.

I really hope some of the big comps stick around after this season. Vail still has some big parks but Vail really fucking hates contests, esoecially the cool ones. Outside of USASA events VRs dont really have much.

Even smaller rail jams and shit. Although to be fair a lot of the big mountains aren't super down with them. Imo those are the most important/core events mtns can have for parks.

If Vail tries to fuck with prospector though...
 
Only difference in this set up vs a R2R typical year was a dfd really. The flat tube transfer to down rail made for more entertaining trick selection then a disaster 4 on fest.
