Turkeys

there's a fuck ton of turkeys in the woods outside my house every winter. Every morning they're out there gobbling their dicks off, waking me up and shit. I don't hunt, but it seems fun and not too hard. i'd probably make my own blind.

set me up with gear NS! also if there is a hunting cult, someone paste the link!

do this, then you are the new leader by default and you can order your flock of flesh eating turkeys (i assume you'll start feeding them flesh so after acquiring leadership because why not) to attack people you don't like.

Turkeys are my favorite game to hunt in North America, at least out of the species I have hunted thus far. There is nothing like the thrill of a turkey gobbling on a crisp spring morning, then calling it in. I'm very much a "run and gun" type of turkey hunter, which while it may see less success, is very much more exciting.
To hunt turkeys you will need a hunting license. Before you can purchase a hunting license, you must take a hunter safety course. In the spring season (when they gobble), you are only allowed to harvest males. It is absolutely amazing how tough turkey hunting is!
The legal implements for turkey hunting are shotgun or bow. Rifles are not allowed, except perhaps in 1 or 2 states. There is a real art to turkey calling, which takes a tremendous amount of practice. There are also many different types of turkey calls. I personally use a box call and a slate call.
Any particular questions regarding turkey hunting, feel free to PM me. A side trivia note - there are four subspecies of turkeys in North America, and turkeys live in 49 out of the 50 states (all except Alaska). There are also the Gould's turkey (primarily in Mexico) and the Oscellated turkey in South America. Harvesting all four subspecies of North American turkeys is called a Grand Slam.

cock fighting brings in alot of money in south america so i guess the only logical thing to do would be to start turkey fighting in america.

Thanks bro! +k

The woods where they reside and gather is like 20 feet from my door. So no hunting license, because fuck the police.

I'm looking into a Remington 870, what would i need to hunt turkey with that?

and jk about the license btw

A Remington 870 will be fine. Just make sure you get the correct choketube. You will want turkey-specific shells. I personally use Winchester Heavy Shot X-Tended Range. Costs $3.50 a shot, but it's worth it. If you live in a development, make sure you are far enough away from houses. Each state is different, but there are laws about how close to a house you can shoot (unless you have permission).
You will learn a lot in your hunter safety course. I definitely recommend it. Besides, if you shoot one illegally (without a license or out of season) and tell people about it, it could very well get back to you and land you in serious trouble. Poaching (which is what that would be) is taken very seriously. FYI, the police do not enforce game laws - game wardens do. Game wardens are like police, but with lots and lots more power and authority.
