I'm about to buy a 2004 Saab 9-3 Turbo sedan. anyone know what the aftermarket/tuning capability of the car is? i'm no ricer, but i'd be interested in investing a little bit in my car. plus k for legit-ness.

my brother has a 1999 9-3 hatch back.

he totaled it, but we bought it back and fixed it up. he ended up like taking it apart and putting in some enormous intercooler that he had to retrofit.

the car puts out a freakish amount of power, and its FWD so its kinda awkward. you can be moving in first, step on the peddle, and spin the wheels so easily. you dont have to drop the clutch of anything.

the acceleration gets very scary at points because it starts to torque out your steering wheel and you have to hold it straight.

i dont know what he did, but he did it, and the car is disgustingly fast. but it isnt going to live much longer

My ex boyfriend had two saabs, and he made them both pretty damn fast. He had them on coils, intercooler, tuned the ECU, the whole bit. I don't know any specifics of either car.. but here are some pictures

that's half the fun.

any thoughts on those body kits? not to sound like a retard but i think it'd look pretty good on a 9-3 sedan.

not to thread jack but, anyone interested in buying a saab in the ny ct albany area, 1000 $ bucks, or if you need any factory parts man hit me up

1999 saab 9-3 164,xxx miles selling it for 1000 bucks

engine still pulls great, turbos in great shape, new clutch 60 thousand ago, new fuel injector modular 45-50 thousand miles ago

selling it for cheep because it has some cosmetic sit wrong with it,

-fog lights busted

-right side view mirror cracked but did a bad ass electrical tape job people cant even tell its broke

-as with most cars with 160+ miles a bunch of plastic pieces are falled apart in the car

still drives awesome though

I have an '88 9000 SPG with the saddle-brown leather interior. I got in touch with the guys at Swedish Dynamics about tuning my car. After speaking with them on the phone and looking over their parts list I decided on a new ECU with an upgraded fuel map, larger injectors, cold air intake and cold air intake.

Factory boost levels for the SPG are around 14psi. Before the upgraded fuel map and injectors, my car was leaning out around 17psi. After everything gets sorted out I should be pushing roughly 23psi of boost. Next on the list is a custom test-pipe, and 3" exhaust.

I only use 93-octane gasoline.

At only 17psi, and at half-throttle the mechanic at my local shop commented that this car "goes like a raped date". I agree.
