Tuckerman's Ravine runs

Well, it really depends on the conditions (how tracked the trails up are) and how quickly you are going up, what trails you are taking to get to the bottom of the ravine, weather, etc. Keep in mind that you want to leave somewhat early so you can get down to the base of Mt. Washington with light still out. I heard you can ski to the base right now, however.

In my opinion it is not so much about the time, more about the energy. Sure time wise you could do 6-7 runs, but I doubt you would have the energy for it.

I have done it 3 times and it usually take me 40 minutes to get above the headwall, basically to the absolute top of the bowl.

The question is: How many runs will you have energy for...

Each hike to the top of Tuckerman's takes the good part of an hour if not more, and a lot of energy. If you take only the necessary equipment for the hike up, you'll be able to ski all the way down to the parking lot which is a pretty long run. I would guess you would get 2 runs around the Headwall, or 1 run on Hillmans Highway before your legs are done and you ski down.

I'd say 2 in the ravine and then one long run down the Sherburne trail. If you get there at 10, expect to be at the lower headwall by noon. Chill for 30 min. Hike the headwall for 45 min. Ski down. Depending on the time of year, some exposures become too sketchy to ski around 2 and you'll spend another 20-30 min going to another exposure.
I highly suggest you start hiking around 6 or 7 am. You'll get a full, enjoyable day out of Tucks that way.
