Trying to learn a backflip

Learn them on mogul style jumps, trust me. If you build a jump into pow you can just sling your first few and will probably land, they are super easy.

After that you can to a lot to make them easier and look sick. You want a good pop. Think fully extended, stacked and parallel to the lip for your pop. The rotation comes totally from your core. If you are setting it with your shoulders your will do a huge archy backflip (fun as hell, but if you want to grab or something it's way harder)

but seriously an easy trick, just learn it on a kicky jump into soft snow, because you might catch your tip or backslap the first try.

Approach the jump with your legs shoulder width apart, and instead of keeping your body upright on the take off, let your body lean back with the take off. As soon as you pop off the lip slightly start to lean backwards and throw your arms up above your head. Bring your knees up to your chest and hold them there until you spot your landing. When you spot your landing, release your legs so you don’t over rotate. Finish off with steezy afterbang and WHA-LA; You’ve completed your first backflip, congratulations.

make sure you get a good pop off the lip so you don't punch a hole in the jump with your head like my friend did, and throw your legs in the air, keeping your body straight. Look back and spot your landing as fast as you can, and whip your legs around when you are about to land. As long as you commit, its actually (in my opinion) much easier than a 360.

Good luck, and don't eat shit ;)

pretty much the whole thing is confidence the only part that i find hard sometimes is getting the rotation right and not over flipping or under flipping. also find a jump that has good pop it will help alot with the rotation.

Sure if you don't actually plan on landing. It's a stupid easy trick. You don't "try" a backflip. You either commit and do it or you don't.

Go to a park jump and stomp it first time, then work on your corked search bar true tail.

I built this jump with the intention of being backflip friendly. If you have the resources to do so then build your own jump with lots of soft snow and huck it. I actually learned my first backflip on an icy park jump and landed first try. Second try i laid it out more and winded myself. The jump i have now is very soft and forgiving as you can tell:

I'm thinking about trying a backflip today, but I'm not sure if I am comfortable enough with flipping yet. I can do backflips standing backwards on a diveing board pretty comfortably, I can't gainer. Jumping from ground level I can get half a backflip. Do you think I will be able to do it? +K for help.

look at the video under my profile, there MAD easy, i know kids who can't even 360 but they can backflip. Just huck it.

10 feet and pretty kickyi did my first one last weekend /claim I lot of stalling and worrying before i dropped in but got it around and everything was fine. go for it and commit

i was learning backflips yesterday on an airbag at my home mountainI started flipping too late so i tucked really hardhowever i tucked forward and stopped flipping, so i landed on my neck.the moral of the story is if you are going to tuck, keep looking back, just tuck your body, not your head. Also if you have an airbag available, use it.they aren't hard, they are scary, so commit
