trying to be good...

alright...last summer before this ski season i was all pumped and shit thinking i'd get so good at park this year and all i wanted to do was just care about being good and doing like all these corked flipped things...i was also like that til basically last weekend. Me and my friends just basically didn't care about trying anything good and just skied the mountain and still went into the park alot, but just fooled around and did stuff that i didn't get nervous about or anything. We just did like, easy rail, some old school, just some 180s tryin to make em nice, stufff like taht and it was so much more fun then trying real hard to be good and look good. i actually laughed a lot and didn't get all picky about how good or bad i was doing and didn't care if i didnt even grease the easiest rail there or a 2 ft 180 it was just fun to actually ski and not try to be good and just let it flow. I'm probably way behind a ton of u guys who found this out a long time ago, but just to kids who try real hard to be good: unless u have an insane future and ur real talented or something, just try one day and just do what i did. Ski the trails and take em switch and do some mad 3's off some natural ledges or drop offs even on groomed trails and still go into the park if u want and just goof around and u'll probably find out its so much more fun. You should still progress, but just don't take it so seriously like i used to. and u'll probably actually end up being even better skier that way.

what a gay post...

This is a lot like me. Today me & my friend rich were hiking a section of the park and instead of hitting the up-kink box on skis... we did it with just boots. We weren't destroying anything and there was almost no one else there and when we were done we hit it on skis and went to the bottom of the run.

Now I just work on doing my 3,1,0,sw 1, and sw 3s with more style on the smaller table. It's cool to have someone filming too cause, I thought my 180s were flappy from a past video... but i didn't move an arm and people were like 'stylie' and shit.

But yeah... it's fun. I like to try and progress more and more, but sometimes it frustrates you a lot.

haha, some days i feel all puymped and ready to ski, but somedays i just relax, for me its a day to day thing.

yea dude... i wonder how many people out there don't ski this way. why ski if you're just nervous and not having fun? do what's fun - isn't that why we all ski in the first place.

I skied pretty much everyday this winter - and yet I only learned like two new tricks all year... worked on making what I do got look and feel nice ('cause it all comes down to making it feel good) hell - I hardly even do any switch tricks anymore... (and i used to be able to do switch whatever you want - it's just not my style no more)...

This is what we need more of people just skiing for the fun of it. Not everyone does that these days, a lot of people are out there training or trying to be the best there is. I never give a shit how bad the conditions are, as long as I'm out there on snow I'm having a great time. Ski for the fun of it, not to be cool or be the best. Skiing is a lifestyle.

I agree, just ski, I was planning on working on all this shit this season and trying all these tricks too. I ended up doing none of that and just skiing and doing what felt good. I still progressed and got better and did cool tricks but it didnt frustrate me. Sometimes its really fun to be pumped up and nervous cause once you stomp it you get a sweet feeling.

word yeah this year i had high hopes and everything but then i started getting really frustrated and i would hike one rail all day and it sucked, so then i finally got convinced just to go ski again for fun, and just do stuff i hadn't done for a while and it was so much better than hiking rails all day, so now i'm just skiing again and it's awesome yo..........

be short

yah...i like just having fun, knowing all the secret spots...for me it's about hanging out and having fun...it's the ONLY place i really feel like i actually fit in (cuz at school no one else is like 'yah man, did you hit the stepup?')..so it's fun just to ski everywhere i guess was teh point of that.

yeah i just got so much better this year at what i can do already and it's so much more fun. And if you wanna learn a new trick, don't hike and get all into it, just keep bombing down trails and fool around, go into the park and just be like, 'alright, i'll try THIS now' but don't get worked up over it. Plus, if you don't get worked up over it and don't care and take hte lift and do it again, chances are that you'll probably be more likely to land it sooner if u don't get mad about it. plus its more fun.

i did like some shit like that we didnt want to go out to the slope(hangover) so we droped from a icey snowpile and did wheelies over a smal like sidewalk and down a little drop damn this doesnt make sense.

Having fun is the best way to ski. I went skiing this weekend planning on hitting jumps and getting better but then I got there and we had a ton of powder (for michigan) so I just skied around all day. I went through the park a few times but mostly stayed in the trees and steeper runs.

My girlfriend told me to shove my skis up my ass

ya skiing just for fun is great. like throwing little 3s and 180s off everything. hitting the little rails. but then again its also fun to get all stoked and nervous to try sompin' hard. and then when u hit it u feel all releaved and good.

yay 4 skiing

finally people who know how to ski. just skiing is the best. one time i dragged a friend down our entire hill while he was lying on his stomach. it was sweet. our hill is a tiny one in the midwest so in order to hit the 'main' jump you almost have to straight line the entire hill. some days i like to do that because being in the air is awesome. yeah.
