True center mount or 2cm back?

im wondering if i should go 2cm set back or true center mount... i got the AR6 (which are not TRUE twin tip) and i'm not gonna spend all my time in the park... about 50/50 i'd say... so im leaning towards 2cm..

but will it make a huge difference when jibbing? what about spins?

also im looking for all-mountain, some pow, etc...

sorry if this topic was already discussed, but i wanted to give you some info on what im looking for... and some questions too..

any suggestion is appreciated

thanks!!

bro ur exactly the same as me i got the ar6 and i got 1cm back not middle or 2cm back! its deffinetly worked out well for me. i deffinetly yhink u should go that way in the middle of them

Dont get center then... it dosent work, if anything, pow switch on centermount feels nicer. go at least 1cm i would say...

Id go center i think it makes a good diference in the park and 2 cm back dosent make enough of a diference in powder to chose that over center.

center is much better.

since i center mounted my skis i realy cant ski anything that s not centered. just feels too weird.

id go center because in the future it would annoy me if i was in the park and i kept blaming shit on the fact that my ski is not true center.

and also, you can control a center mount in all mountain terrain, ive been doing it with my k2 PE's and now my ON3P j-mos. thres a learning(comfortability) curve to it. But ultimatley if you ski 50% park your going to want that stability and even-ness..

id go center if you plan on expanding at all in the park. my first year i had them back a little and it just didnt feel right.

i was in the same positition as you a while ago when i got my t halls. i wanted to do mostly park but i also wanted to have them back a little just to say that they werent completely center mount so i got them mounted 1cm back.

i would go true center. it makes a big difference in the park, especially on rails and stuff, but with the true center its still easy to ski the mountain

I have my skis center. Granted i ski mostly park but ether way you go you will get used to it after a day or two, so dont sweat it too much. If you wanna ski everything I would say -1 would work really well

I mount all my skis true center, youll ski fine in powder and its a hell of alot better in the park

Ar6 are made to be mounted 2 cm back for a reason, if you flex the ski you'll realize that if you mount it dead center it screws up the flex pattern and it will not carve as good as -2cm. If you are dead set on not -2cm mount it maximum -1cm. Also people need to realize that you dont need a center mounted ski to ski in the park, honestly most skis ride just as well in the park if not better mounted back a little.

2cm back is definitely what you want to do. your skis are not designed to be mounted dead center. you will be much happier 2cm back. they'll ski great in the park and you'll still have a really awesome ski for all mountain. you said you're about half and half park and all mountain, the ar6 is way too fun of a ski to ruin by mounting it dead center.

definitely 2 back. Especially if you are going to be 50 park 50 all mountain. i just remounted an older pair of volkl karmas 2 back and it's perfect, much better than true center. I don't notice much of a diff in the park honestly and it is much more comfortable for the rest of the mountain. Depending on how many pairs of sticks you got you prob want some versatility.

last season i had AR5s and they were 2cm back, and to be completely honest i hated them. i love my suspects this past season (true center) so i have come to appreciate center mounted skis. but i ski 75%+ park. only when im with family do i ski mountain. like previous posts, go 1cm back and everyone wins. its not a huge difference in park, and you will still get the feel of an all mountain ski.

thanks a lot for the responses...

im gonna set it 2cm back this time... cuz they are NOT true twin... there's no true center mount mark.. there are only the -2.5cm and -5.0cm marks, but ill do 2cm

i dont know how this karma thing works yet but fuck it... who cares, good vibes to all

does 2 centimetres really make that much of a difference in park? Im thinking about getting the AR6 but want to spend most of my time in the park, will i be fine with 2 cm?
sorry for the hijack

Man i would go either 1cm or 2cm cause i have my suspects mounted 1cm back and i rode my mates and in the park i couldn't tell the difference but i would all mountain. 1cm is really no difference but its something for when your slaying the mountain. hope this helped.

centered is better but i went a whole season with my chronics 2 back and i didnt ski much park back them about 1/2 and 1/2 so haveing them there is good for everything

How does a directional (not true twin) ski act when mounted center? I'm putting schizos on either the SFB or K2 Extreme for the versatility between park, pow and grooms. Quick screw twist and good to go. But how would they ski while mounted center? I'm just curious yknow?
