Truck town in

A few friends and I made a couple of features last night. One was just a big hip and the other was a jump up onto the roof of a building to drop off. This was just outside the residence at our college. We were using a buddies truck w/ a rope for a tow in. After hitting both jumps for a solid few hours the police showed up. Apparently someone had called them and complained (no idea why, we weren't hurting anyone or anything). The cop said that it was a $600 fine for towing people behind a vehicle. We ended up shutting everything down after that nice none of use can afford a fine...

I had no idea that towing a skier behind a vehicle in a parking lot was illegal. Does anyone have any similar tales? Or better yet, does anyone know what the law really says about towing behind vehicles?

I'm in BC by the way.

I am not suprised there is a fine for it. But clear something up for me, They didnt fine you right?

I don't think they did. I think they just warned them and said 'Leave or we'll fine you, if we find you out here again'

i feel like if it was private property then the cops cant do anything, but campus security definitely could

I got caught driving a truck towing two longboarders on ropes in Nanaimo BC and the cops exact words were "You guys are breaking the law but you're not being assholes so we're gonna let you off". I think they just wanted to scare us a bit.

We don't have campus security so thats not an issue. I've done vehicle tow ins for years and never had an issue with the police in other towns. This was the first time I've had any problems with it.

I'm in a super strick program and even if the guy was bullshitting, I can't afford to find out.

I'm from Nanaimo and can assure you that they don't give a fuck.

really? ive been towed by a truck and snowmobile a ton of times, and have never had the cops show up haha
