TRIPS PLANNED FOR OUT WEST, BUT NO SKIS, WHAT SHOULD I GET?

I already have 167 line chronics with look p10's and have a couple of trips out west planned for this year. It will be my first time in REAL powder so I need to know a good pow ski for beginners. Also how does pow effect my choice in length? I prefer short sticks as I am 5'8, 135 (DONE GROWING). I was thinking 165 pocket rockets, what do you all think?

you're going to want a little bit longer ski for pow then what you ski in the park. PR's are super fun, look at the scratch bc's too

im 5-7 or 5-8 and i use 175 pocket rockets and those are fine man, id def go a 175 ish lengthened powder ski

save the cash and demo a pair of powder skis if the conditions are right. Just because you are going on a trip out there does not mean it is going to be epic powder. I have been countless times where the snow is pretty firm.

Maybe some pistols/vicious If I can find them? Anybody know who is selling or cheapest place to get them. I am not just using them for a couple of trips, we will be moving in the spring so I plan on using them next year as well.

Best advice in this thread. Then you can just pick the best ski for the conditions each day and you'll get to try out a bunch of different skis.

yea but if hes taking a couple trips and plans on doing this more in the future i would get something like the pocket rocket. 175 would be good

I just decided to make a trip to copper on sunday for two days so i bought a pair of 4frnt VCT's for the trip. you should get some too....
