TRIPLE FLIPS

word. I feel doubles can be pulled off with lots of steeze these days, but a triple... that belongs to aerials.

yes it will get there. maybe not this coming winter but people will start throwing them. they will start like the kangaroo with lower rotations but really flippy and without any grabbing but i feel like it will evolve into more tech triple flips with better grabs similarly to how doubles did. possibly im wrong and if i am i would be more than happy with that cuz i dont want the sport to go in this direction, but progression will overcome all

I predict that triple corks and triple flips of all variations will hit this site with force in the next 2 years. And when it does you can quote me.

there comes a point when its time to ask if its really worth the risk. this isnt hate against pushing the sport in the direction of triple flips, but is it really worth risking your life on a skyscraper sized jump?

why do people hate triple flips the only reason I see that is because people feel like they can't keep up. but so what if the triple front flip doss not look as good as a cork 5 it still sick.

Huge props to people who start doing triples, and thats a sick direction to be going in, but I still think there is so much to be done with skiing at this point. Backcountry, pipe, gnarly rail setups, switch pow lines, hips, interesting urban, there's so much to be done that although I support anyone who wants to go in that direction I think skiing could use some variation at the same time.

same thing kids on here were saying two years ago about doubles. I guess we'll just have to wait and see where we are two years from now.

there comes a point when the rotation and huckage gets to be too much.. you know eventually someone somewhere will end up throwing one but i don't think its the way the sport is intended to go and hopefully people see that and just stick to throwing sicker and sicker doubles

haha. This made me laugh, because I have seen countless times where something similar has been said about big vs. little spins

You can huck a 3 and have not it be steezy, but E'Dollo can make 16s look dope. That said, someone needs to go for it, and if its styley, I don't mind. The only difference in my mind between aerials and freestyle is just that, style and creativity, so as long as that is present in triples, I don't think NS will object.

nah man even doubles is pushing it... its gonna get to a point where freestyle skiing will be 2 different sports... the g's who keep shit steezy and the queers who do triple flips

Yeah Im in full agreeance buddy! but me and you are gonna be pushing the limits in the next few years, and if the jump is right, and the powder deep enough, it could always be a possibility.. but thats some shit that defnitely needs to be left on the back burner for the time being.. yadddddddddaaaaaa

it isnt the right direction for the sport, tricks with lower rotations and tech grabs are where its at, skiing needs progression in that kind of direction, like Laurent Favre and Andy Perry, theyre killing it with different stuff that people hardly do, but takes way more skill.

aerialists hit only one jump in their entire lifes, so someone who will be able (in five years) to throw triples off huge tables, doubles in the pipe and on hips cant be called an aerialists. things are so much different, even if you would throw a quadruple

It will happen for sure, just a question of the jumps and making it safe enough so that they will be open to a wide variety of athletes just like the doubles have become.

And why do people keep saying go to aerials. Drop that bs already, aerials is such a different style progression then freestyle skiing. When we eventually start hucking triples, it's not gonna be anything close to the way they are thrown in aerials.

Again the same argument was made for doubles, "go to aerials, blah blah blah." I have yet to see a single dub trick that looks anything remotely close the style of aerial tricks.

Triple corks for pres.

I hope it evolves into triple flips. When I see a triple cork 1620 nosegrab to screamin seamen, I can die with a smile on my face.

Dumont 2 seasons ago in that keystone edit. Front flip to front full.... THAT was aerials. Good thing I haven't seen it since.
I do like doubles and never was against them, but triples.... ehhh I don't know. It would have to be a really, really large jump for it to be pulled off steezy. With doubles you can easily grab and tweak them out, add shiftys and lots of steeze, but a triple I feel won't have a grab and will have to be fairly hucked.
I wouldn't mind seeing some HUGE triples in the BC though, that would be sick. I just don't know if I like the idea of triples in the park.

All you need is a super poppy stepover. Im sure people could have done them at JOSS this year. I dunno if its good or terrible, but I feel like it will happen.

seriously i think that triples would be to much...to flippy and frantic looking, i think that what made doubles so appealing is that that could be performed with style rather than just spin to win
