So 16 years old Luca Schuler just landed a Triple 10 at an inner city big air competition:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnCMWpBbgOA (2:37)

Damn Kai's double cork 9 was my favorite trick from that edit.

That dub cork 10 was crazy though and props for stomping it on such a small jump.

Oh man I love event edits where a majority of the time is some random idiot talking into the camera. Who watches event re-caps for the skiing!? As a skier, I live for interviews!

Haha. The whole dub cork 7 obsession seems like an age ago now

Man, I remember when I used to complain that a switch 10 was too much rotation.

Times... they change.

don't wanna be that guy but....

that right there is most definitely a triple cork 10

yeh no , see , his head goes upside down.

which makes it not a cork.

triple flat ten with a real shitty safety grab. still crazy as fuck.

Definitely not triple flat

This is a triple flat

The differences are Luca is dipping his lead shoulder aka spinning around the inside shoulder. In a flatspin you are dipping the other shoulder. Still think this is considered a triple cork tho

lol that's not a flatspin

Well then obviously this aint a switch dub cork 10, since he goes inverted.

The debate about the true definition of how a trick is executed will never end

...

I'd say it's a switch double rodeo 10 but that's just me.

Tom says he sets it as a ''really flippy switch rodeo 5'' to an underflip 5....

not sure how those 2 rotations together make a cork but hey , what do I know.

this is a switch double cork.

I totally agree with you. Many of the pros are naming the trick wrong, like tj chiller saying that this is a rodeo 5

That is clearly a flatspin in my opinion. I don't really mind what they call it, but what I meant from the beginning was that lucas trip 10 is not a flatspin..

The dub cork 7 was the unicorn of ski tricks for about 3 or 4 years until Henrik and that guy at JOI finally worked out how to do them. We've completely forgotten about all that anguish now that 16 year olds can do triple cork 10s. The next step happened comparatively quickly

Also that's a legit triple cork in my mind

I agree , that's a flat spin.

I never said it was a triple flat either , I just said it isn't a triple cork.

Flatspin and rodeo are very commonly confused, and Ive come to believe that the definitions change between europe/usa. I personally would call that a ro5, but it is pretty close. the first one he does is a flat tho.

I think the other trick is undeniably a cork though, although he does go quite inverted, its just him tucking his shoulder down its not the actual spin axis.

still think you're wrong there. first of all, I wouldn't say he actually goes inverted. if you take his hip as reference point (and not the higher of his two feet) his head is at the same height at best. this would mean his perfectly horizontal at best which makes it a perfect cork in my book. second we have long started accepting crazy inverted axis as corks, for instance the last 540 in a dub 12 often is pretty inverted. wouldn't say you could call luca out on this triple cork since he's not even as inverted as many other guys.

calling a flatspin a rodeo doesn't bother me as much as people calling rodeos flatspin , it's my biggest pet peave , a backflip with a japan is jot a flat 3 , it pisses me off to no extent.

totally agree, if you're upside down it's not a flatspin.

but i'd call Luca's a triple cork, the shot is looking up at the trick, making it look more inverted.

guys like adam delorme do pretty inverted cork 3s, i wouldnt start calling them underflip 3s but i guess you could.. it's splitting hairs really.

I don't know man , the last one I'd say is a corked 3 but the first 2 are really flippy

This is why it's so darn hard to create a trick tracking system in our game - no one can ever agree on what a trick exactly is!

just call everything a whirly bird. I'd honestly love it if you guys introduced a gaper mode where when you land a switch 9 a random voice goes "Woah he just took off backwards and did a snowboarder trick" or something along the lines of it. Would be so sick.

Not the same idea, but at the moment on our website if you write "snowboard" or "snowboarding" in any comments we highlight it in rainbows :) We got fed up with people keeping asking us about snowboarding...

that's one of the most shittiest idea I've ever heard....

it's worst than the tramp mode in shredsauce

i wouldn't sweat it. skiers in general have a terrible case of trick name hair splitting itis. it's really pointless. why would we even have a different name for the exact same trick but slightly more or less inverted? it's stupid. the difference between two "TRUE" corks could be just as vast as the difference between a cork and a d spin. that's why skiing is cool, different takes on things

also i would never expect a game to identify tricks too well. worry about the controls and physics, sure, but i won't expect you to release a perfect naming system

emile, how do you judge this triple 10?
=4m3s the first 3 admittedly looks flippy, the last 2 look like genuine corks though I think...
