Trip to Breck?

As an East Coaster, I'm looking for some advice on a late May trip to Breckenridge next month. Kinda randomly got access to a dope house with a pool/hot tub/huge yard (free from friend of a friend) we're thinking about taking a trip out around the 20th. Would we even be able to ski this late in the year? Breck's website says they're open till Memorial day but that seems pretty late to me.

I've never skied anything other than shitty East Coast mountains so any advice on conditions/gear to bring/things to do/other activities would be very helpful. (We're going even if we cant ski) also HMU if you live in that area I'm sure we'll be getting up to some shenanigans

They claim they will be open till Memorial Day. Don’t be surprised if they pull weekends only or something without any notice.

I mean you have a free place to stay so kinda no brainer. Overall breck is flat and busy and expensive. Make the most of the free shit and terrorize that place.

What’s a day ticket there now? $150 a day since it’s off season?

So far they really hoping to be open till Memorial Day. Like mentioned above it will prob only be a couple runs on peak 7 or 8 and pretty crummy as it’s melting hard right now. Shouldn’t be super busy but I don’t know if it’s worth the $150 for the white ribbon of death.

It's empty as hell rn which is rare for Breck, they're keeping peak 6+7 open and t-bar and imperial starting tomorrow. They just closed peaks 8-10 but word is they'll build a park on 7. it's a chowder harvest on the lower mtn but really good coverage. A basin prolly has better snow tho

Breck will be open through Memorial Day. The classic Park Lane and Freeway will not be available to ski, but I'm pretty sure they're gonna put up a park of sorts. Lower Peak 8 (where the parks normally are) will be closed, and they're farming the snow over to the lower Peak 7 area. Upper Peak 8, with the T-Bar and Imperial chair should be open as long as it holds snow. Probably going to be pretty lit as far as May skiing goes tbh

It's not 150 and white ribbon of death? Probably more casual spring skiing as spring tends to be.

It won't be crowded, it won't be icy, and conditions will probably be pretty decent. But yeah, white ribbon of death, not at all and $150 tickets, also not at all.

Like I said prob not white ribbon or death. Also tickets are $99 in advance and $109 at the window. I’m sorry. Typical Vail Baby

I've only ever skiied east coast, so I'm not really worried about conditions at all haha. Their worst day is still like our best days

i've only skied breck a little bit. will any of the hike-to stuff be open at that point? if so OP should def consider that as a first-timer in the west

OP i'm sure you know better than to let grumpy internetters like Skibum make you think you're not going to have a ball. be hyped, it's a fun mtn and a fun cool area even if you don't ski
