Trim to fits

I just got some trim to fit footbeds and they're just a little bit bigger than the stock insoles. I can fit them into the liner without them folding but it's a little tight. Should I even bother trimming them?

You should just go to a bootfitter and get custom made footbeds. They will be worlds better than any trim to fit

Trim to fit footbeds are better than stock insoles, and work quite well if they happen to be the same profile as your foot. Custom footbeds will be better(if you need them), But trim to fits work.

I don't have money for customs right now, and I already have the trim footbeds in my boots, I was just wondering if I should bother cutting them exactly how the stock ones are shaped, even though they already fit inside the liner. Now I think about it, theres no reason not to.

Yes, it is ok to trim them.

Always cut them down. They want to be 2-3mm shorter then the liner so that the ttf can sit well beneath your foot. But if you have not used them yet see if you can return them and save the money untill you can get customs. Honestly ttf do very little and offer not much more then a stock insole. Save up and get some customs.

considering a stock footbed is just blown foam and a ttf is gel and high density foam with some support i would say its better than stock and worth keeping.

The types of foam are not important it's the shape of the cap and it's ability to support the foot in neutral which matter. Most ttf only support the mid tarsal joint and leave the mid and front foot unsurported. Now this may be better then no support but for some people it may in fact be worse. So ttf may work or they may make it worse. It's for this reason I suggest not to bother and instead to just save for full custom.
