Tricks for Treats Session At Mount Snow

Yo, so we have been blowing snow all night and the guns are still on. The rail park on Launch Pad will open back up later on this afternoon.

Saturday we are having a very laid back Tricks for Treats jib session. This isn't a rail jam, there aren't any judges, and you don't have to worry about being good enough. We've got some music, food, and free candy plus prizes if you show up in the best Halloween Costume.

Come on out, shred something, eat something, wear a costume and win something.

Launch Pad will be free to hike. If we open the lift it will be 10 bucks ( going to charity) or if you have a season pass, that works too.
 
Update: Its going to be 10 bucks if you hike or take the lift. Food will be free and Invasion Snowboard Shop is going to be giving away a bunch of swag all day too.
 
From my house I can see you guys are making a lot of snow on the upper mountain. That won't be open for this weekend will it?
 
they say conditions depending...but launch pad will still be the only park open...

my question is, look at the forcast for this week...50's all week with rain :( mtns are gonna suffer bad. i hope it cools down
 
my source was up there today earlier and said there was a down box, down rail, and a trap rail. all small features. but they were adding/putting new stuff up, but atleast those 3 are in.
 
yo, im heading up tommorow, just wondering if the discovery lift will be open and if just launchpad is open or any more?
 
i hate when people say ns is useless. who the fuck are you kidding? its no more useless than it ever has been. in fact, it gets way more useful everyday with all the team/mountain updates and extremely active forums thanks to all the admin here. everyone complaining that "its useless! theres so much hate! zomg people are so annoying!" just fucking get over it. thats life. this website is not useless nor will it be useless anytime soon.
 
i pose you a quest: find me a picture of mount snow on halloween of it having more snow then that EVER IN THE HISTORY OF ALL ETERNITY then i will grant you your bottle of haterade
 
seriously? You seem to always be unimpressed with whatever Mount Snow does, but yet you always wind up here. If its such a let down just stay at killington and session everything they have been doing for you so far.
 
I'm with TWA here.

Unimpressed by the fan guns ability to produce much snow in cold temps.

Their park system has been awesome and they have been doing great things, but I am a little shocked that with the cold temps that they have been unable to do more with regards to snowmaking.

I respect what they've done, but I guess I expected more from snowmaking.
 
dude, u and TWA... Ive been making snow and working park crew 6 seasons now. and ive worked with the same SMI PoleCats at Crotched. Those fan guns kill it! Wait until we get a reallly cold night. like single digits and then they can open up all 4 banks on those guns. I think you will be impressed then. but its october, im well impressed. i cant remember a time when a mtn in new england was open in october.
 
Isn't fan guns claim to fame actually in marginal temperatures and their ability to produce more snow in marginal temperatures?

You're missing what I'm saying. I absolutely think Mt Snow has been killing it. They had an awesome setup last year and are showing their dedication to freeskiing this year as well. Major respect there. But at the same time I look at the snowmaking that Killington just pulled off, and am struggling to understand why Mt Snow wasn't able to equal that, unless it never got nearly as cold there.

Again, much respect to Mt Snow though!
 
i have no idea how one could hate on mt snow considering what theyre doing for our sport this year. maybe thats just me...
 
U guys arnt hating but cmon we can cut them some slackim sure there is a prefect explaination why they arnt meeting your expectationsbut to me what they have done is simply amazing

and no, it did not get as cold down here as it did at killy, it never went below 30 degrees

stay at killington cuz they have so much snow, but dont come to mt snow between december-april when our park is 100 times better than killy's ever is.

and whoever pointed out that twa hates on everything mentioned about mount snow is right. ive noticed it too.

skier or "steve?" word. i did expect a little more, but it wasnt like there wasnt coverage more temp obv isnt the only factor in snowmaking too. the air has been wicked dry this past week after all the rain we've had and its barely gotten into the 20's, unlike up the top of killy. we also have to remember that killington got a foot earlier in the week, and has been blowing snow since. what mount snow blew for this weekend started very late wed night, and some thurs night. so in 2 nights they put down enough snow to withstand 2 days with 100's of people, and then blow more sat night to do well for today...
 
Ahh, definite bummer that Mount Snow didn't get the cold temps like central and northern vt got.
 
^yeah it sucked. guns still needed more humidity tho so colder wouldnt have made that much more i dont think

and twa, im not trying to hate on you or anything, but you mentioned that the names of the jams were the same for friday. 80% of railjams held on halloween have been called tricks for treats, just because whoever you're involved with has had it for the past 3 years doesnt mean no1 else has ever done it. then u said u werent impressed with how much snow there was. and last week you left you said after an hour because it was stupid/dumb (dont know exactly what you said) and not worth it, wen every1 else said it was awesome and had a good time...it just seems to me like ur hating on ms way too much, and i was pointing out to whoever else mentioned it before that i had also noticed.
 
^well i wasnt sure what u said. shitty/packed/raining/crappy conditions or whatever. it just seemed like you had a prob with everything they were doing and said killy was better. but oh well

anyway, sweet raijam ms. my brother won best costume award, so word to that too.
 
I slept in the parking lot saturday night and the fan guns got turned on around 330 in the morning. they spent most of their time blowing snow on the rest of the mountain. so from 330 to 7am those 5 fan guns blew about 6 inches of snow over a reasonably large area. i was impressed.
 
damn dude, sat night? we were there fri night and there was no way we were doing it again friday. too cold and just awful sleeping.

but twa, my brother was the homeless person/ski bum
