rockin' the tight snowpants and goggles over helmet lookin' like he just finished some slalom racing.

Proceeds to triple.....seems like a contradiction
 
Got noticed by Jon Olsson and was invited to JOI last year. He stomped a mad bunch of triples over there (though I'm pretty sure his first one was in a big air comp in Italy) and then got a bunch of sponsors. The Kid was like 15 or 16 when he did his first triple. He was also the second person I ever saw doing nosebutter dub 12s.
 
Didn't enjoy watching him, but he was being compared to some of the craziest, most fun to watch skiers in the world last night. It would have been quite a feat to be entertaining.
 
When i first saw him i was like who the hell is this and why is he on the big air course? Then he did a triple and i shut the fuck up. If only more gapers turned out to be like him.
 
He got 5th at JOI, might have podiumed at playstreets (or 4th?), and has done pretty well in a few world cup events.. Went to Nine Knights as well
 
I'm sorry but the kid did two tricks. Over and over again. It's like no one explained how the scoring worked or something.

Impressive athlete, especially for a young guy, but he's got a ways to go. I believe Kai Mahler is only a year older, or something like that, and Kai has a style all his own, and it's refined. I'm sure he'll come along, but in the meantime, his skiing was the least visually interesting of all the competitors.
 
It's threads like this that make me hate newschoolers sometimes. Everybody doesn't have to look the same, ya assholes. In fact, I'm glad they don't. It's a skiing competition and you should be impressed (or not) by their skiing.

Somehow the same people who bash Harlaut for being unique are the first ones jumping to judgement when a skier isn't dressed like he just walked out of a more colorful version of Compton. I have no doubt that this whole website would suck Goepper dong if he dressed like edollo but skied the exact way he does now.
 
There's a difference between having style and your clothing. If he had better style and wasnt a freaking robot throwing shit left and right it would be better. I would rather see a really dope dub 10 then a super hucked and not clean triple.
 
Haha don't get me wrong dude, Nordica's park skis and riders are dank, but I was just pointing out that all three of his sponsors are huge Euro companies that have racing backgrounds.
 
Jesus relax; people are just poking fun at the fact that he dresses a bit like a racer, I doubt anyone has anything actually bad to say about him; he's clearly an amazing skier.

And the whole "if X wore Y clothes you would all love him" shit is really getting old, you have a really cynical view of skiers if you believe we choose who we admire solely on the size of their t-shirts.
 
definitely true, look at Jon, he wore some pretty Euro-racer looking suits and still had sick style in most of his tricks even though he was on a way higher level than almost everybody at the time tech wise
 
He just looked as cookie cutter as it gets. I don't like to judge on clothes that much, but the complete racer style combined with bringing nothing new to the big air comp at all (I think he threw three tricks through all 38 minutes of his skiing, switch dub misty 12, sw dub misty 14, and trip 14) just made me use his run as an excuse to run to the fridge to grab another drink.
 
i feel like he did the same exact dub misty, left from the same point, landed at the exact same point, grabbed the same, skied out the same, 5 times. It just looked like I was watching replays. And if the judges hadn't sucked during his qualifier he wouldn't have made it in to finals at all.

Second, I agree he had the most similar tricks, but Kai Mahler does those same tricks and newschoolers loves him. Luca did a triple with super high mute and yet people actually have the gaul to suggest he lacks style? The dude is sick.

And to those talking about Jon, people loved him because he was a robot and did everything perfectly just the way they complain about the same qualities in goepper today.
 
He threw some big tricks with great form but he was lacking the unique style that Henrick, Gagnier, and ABM had.
