anyone do them? my buddy (whos actually a member on here) is tryin to get me to do one with him, and with the breakdown of .5 swim 15 bike 3 run it seems like a good starter. anyone got any tips or wanna help talking me in to doing it? i cant swim to save my life, but its only a half mile...
 
jk. but I don't see the point in doing shit like that unless you really think its fun. If you do think that, then good luck, I couldn't do it
 
DO IT!

that sounds like a pretty easy one to start out on. don´t even worry about winning. the sense of accomplishment you get from just finishing will be awesome. as far as training for it, just have a good diet going into it. run daily if you can, if not then just a few days a week. biking and swimming too. doing all these with a friend are best as you can push eachother and are less likely to give up or slow down.
 
Go for it! Those distances are perfect for a starter. Just do small daily 5 km runs and try swim and bike once or twice a week and it should be no problem.

Personally i havent competed but individualy i did a Olympic Triatholone- 10 km run, 2km swim- 33km bike and i got to tell you it was a great experience and lots of fun. challenges are great ways to test youself mentally and physically.

do it... i do the chicago triathlon every year and it is always a fun time, you feel so good after you finnish, just remember to pace yourself and drink a ton of liquids
