Hey dudes, I am leaving for New Zealand in like 4 days, and plan on skiing a few days while I am down there. Let's just say i am stoked beyond words. I am pretty sure we will probably ride at Treble Cone.

Can you guys give me any advice as to where on the mtn the best terrain is, and maybe some can't-miss runs I have to take, my skiing time will be limited and I want to make the most of it. BTW i like steeps, pow, trees, bowls, chutes anything that is real skiing I don't much care for park.
 
ok here it is.... IF there is enough snow, you need to hit up the saddle, for lift accesed terrain its pretty awesome.

for back country at tc, you gotta go to the matukituki shoots, they are awesome, pretty dodgy at times, but you sound like you know how to ski....

tc can have some avalanches and for that reason i suggest you attach yourself to a local, even so they can show u were the maddest lines are!

thanks for the info you rock. Man, I got some other people with me that I wouldn't feel comfortable bringing in the BC, especially a region and snowpack I am unfamiliar with, so probably negative on that. I also just realized that Cone doesn't open till around the 26th or later of June! I think we planned to ski around the 28th so conditions will probably be far from ideal if it is even open. So I guess at this point I will just be happy to carve some turns. But if this saddle you speak of is open I will hit that shit up for sure.

yeah the saddle will be open hopefully by then.... i heard they are getting a bit of snow down those ways

When I was down there it was before the season had begun, and then near the end of my trip, some stuff opened up. We ended up skiing the remarkables one day and it was really sick. Snow wasn't that good (actually pretty shitty) but it was fun to get some runs and the park was decent. I could see how The remarkables and skiing in NZ in general could be really fun with good conditions.
