Travelling Shoes

I'm going backpacking for 2+ months soon. Any recommendations on shoes? I know good shoes are an asset but I'm not sure I want to drop 100+ dollars on a pair that I'll only be using for a few months. What do you experienced travelers think?

Go for something you know will be durable and comfortable enough to last. It doesn't have to be overly expensive, but if your feet are in constant pain you might wish you had chosen a better pair. Two months of backpacking is a lot of walking, not to mention the excess weight of your pack also taking it's tole on your shoes. Is there a reason you wouldn't wear these after your trip is over?

you may look like a douche but big hiking boots are the way to go. bring some lightweight mocs for when ur just chillin.

Get a pair of OBOZ or Asolo they are expensive, but they are the best of the best. My pair of oboz I were kayaking and have no problem hiking a few miles with a kayak over wet rocks, down loose hills etc, plus the higher end hiking boots you can attwch crampons on in the winter
