Traveling Circus Dedicated Rail Ski - 171 or 178?

OK, so...I'm 6'3" 190lb East coaster. I'm an excellent skier but a little sketchy in the park. I have some old beater Line Anthems in a 161 that are my screwing off/backyard/early season skis that are still a lot of fun and were good "learner" skis. I have since upgraded to K2 Recoils/Revivals in 179 which are great all mountain skis. They are both center-mounted, the length feels perfect, and they are very stable on everything I have thrown them at. In an effort to get more mileage out of my K2s I am looking to a pair of Traveling Circuses for dedicated park activities.

Now the question is...do I go with what I am already comfortable on in a 179 or go for a possibly more playful 171?

I feel like my Anthems being little shorty skis helped me get better at rotational stuff, but I still have a long ways to go. For this reason I feel like 171's might be a fun inbetweener ski. I don't plan on doing much high speed or downhill, I'd just like to beat these skis off of everything I come across and throw some rotation/inversion into the mix.

How do you guys make your TCs work for you? How do the 179s treat you for jibs and flips? Input appreciated!

You'd most likely over power the 171 at your height/weight. The TC is one of the softest skis I've flexed, and would probably get even softer with time. Espeicially considering the ski has a fair amount of rocker as well, it would be like riding 150 sized skis. I would definitely recommend the longer length option, it won't be any less playful then the 171, only much more stable.

im 5'10 and ride a 178 ski and have no problems with thembeing to long. definitely go bigger than 171 if your 6'3 they will be crazy weird and yeah you will overpower them. loo how have you been riding 161's?
