i loved my volkls but idk i kind of feel for a change.....are the atomics lighter? more durable? pros and cons of each....

I've never ridden the walls but I have punx and can talk about those. Punx are incredibly light, soft and yet really stable, and overall really fun. They suck horribly for all-mountain though. In my experience they have had really strong edges (but I have heard otherwise from other people). I have no edge cracks in 20ish days of straight park skiing. They do have a big issue with the sidewalls though. After a while you will get little cracks in your base because the sidewall seperates from the ski. On one of my skis it is getting really bad, but still skiable and fun. I know lots of other people have had similar problems too.

Those skis are pretty different. The Walls are real stiff, but the Punx are on the softer side. Is that what you are looking for? The Punx aren't going to rail hard edges as well as the Wall. But that also means they will be easier to initiate turns and easier to get you out of trouble and manipulate. It really just depends what you are looking for.

My grey red and yellow walls (09/10 I think?) are pretty trashed. Didn't hold up nearly as well as my 08's....also looking for so

Haha it means if you turn the ski over to set an edge real hard and make a strong carving turn, a stiff ski will hold that edge a lot better than a softer ski. A softer ski will want to wash out a little bit, while a stiffer ski will just carve a fly.

I have heard very very bad things about the durability of punx. According to Mark Pomykato, a sponsored Atomic rider, he goes through between 10 and 15 pairs a year and they were more durable in previous years. I'd say stick with walls.

my walls are destroyed after just this season. About a foot of edge missing and where there is edge under foot its about as thick as tinfoil. The base is also starting to separate from the ski underfoot and they are starting to delam alittle. My older pair looked better after 2 seasons but i still like the skis.

owned the first year walls, stiff as fuck, and the the 09/10 walls (yellow/grey ones) wayyy wayy softer, softer than the step ups i have, fuckin love my walls, id say stick with them

i love my punx, no homo. they are the lightest ski ive ever held in my hands, have a nice soft flex and alot of pop. i found they carve really well on groomers. o owned walls first, then had ar6s and am now on punx. the punx are my favorite by far, swingweight is so low!

but the cons: durability. im not really a rail skier and i have 8 cracks on each ski, after 9 days of skiing. i didnt have a single edge crack on my walls or ar6s. but so far no edge seems like it will rip out so it doesnt really matter.

i would def. buy another pair of punx.
