Ok, so back home in NY i have a 15 foot long rail 2 foot high legit park rail. Currently im at lyndon state college in vt. I want to get my rail up here on campus. I need your help in figuring out how to get my burly ass rail the 6 hours from Ny to Vt. I was wondering if I could ship it ups only thing is it weighs like 200 pounds so shipping woulb be super expensive, i was also wondering about U-haul how much do those truck rentals cost? Any useful help or input = KARMA thanks.

i would definatly uhaul it. or if you or one of ur friend has a van, take the seats out of it if it can fit in there.

Rent a u-haul pickup with an 8 or 9 foot bed. If it has a sliding rear window you could put about 5 feet in the cab and fit the rest in the bed with the tailgate down. Use some really secure straps so it doesn't slide around or break any windows.

uhaul trailers are relatively cheap if you have something to tow it with. uhaul trucks get expensive, and they usually charge you for mileage; check on that part though. best bet would seriously be to get somebody with a truck/van to do it. minivan would probably work in a pinch.

i dont think it would fit on my 1996 saturn...I sent an email to the snowboard club leader brainstorming ideas cause i know they want more rails on campus this year and the club has funds this year so im sure something will get figured out

tie it to the top of your car

and then hang a bright yellow or orange thing to show other drivers that there is a rail sticking out the top of you car

or if it had a sun roof and didnt have to go under a bridge drive with it straight up

you could tie it down to the top of anything larger than your car it sounds like. so if you could borrow a van or anything like that, tying it to the top is a good option, or hanging out the bed of a truck would work

Why wouldn't it work? Uhauls are for moving shit, people rent them for long distances all the time.

tie it to the roof and bed of a pickup and then just put a red flag or whatever on the end so people know its a long load

ya im thinking a uhaul trailer too. it is pretty cheap. like one time my family was in tampa and we got this uhaul trailer and we towed it back to ontario for $60 (we boaught a kitchen table lol)

if you can weld: weld a hitch on one end and an axle + wheels on the other end and youre golden

PORTA-RAIL!!!

otherwise borrow a trailer

do you go to LSC? and yeah i was talkin to my mom she has a friend with a boat trailor who might be able to do it i think thats gonna be my best bet

honestly best best would be a trailer, preferably boat, usually boat trailers carry roughly a 14-16 or even up to a 20 foot boat, so if you have some overhang tie a red rag on the end so your covered incase you get pulled over get some tie down straps and pull it behind a vehicle. if your car has a hitch its not much of a load so you cars tranny isnt gonna be dead after, also it is much cheaper than renting the whole uhaul, although sometime uhauls are by the hour which may work out, the can be about 20-30$$ an hour rental. mind you thats in canada

i worked for ups this summer... it wouldnt be cheap but it would be cheaper then driving it yourself..
it would be the standard weight charge pluss some extra due to its lenth... it wouldnt be considered a "normal" package but they would do it for a lil extra change

cud u possibly cut it into sections put it in a truck then weld it back together

or wd that make it impossible to grind

if its detachable then you can porbably fit it in a trailer. although my guess is that it might be a bit too big. u might have to get some sort of moving truck, likt eh ones for furnature..

its your decision tho
