I go to college here in the East. Next year, second semester (January) I want to transfer out west near a badass ski resort. My dreams are to go pro, unreal yes, but you have to try. So I need your guys help on helping me find a college that is close to the resort (about 30 mins). I was thinking mammoth, but I honestly don't have a clue. Thanks Guys!

salt lake city sounds dank as fuck. They got the illest urban scene around and the olympic pipe like 30 mins from slc so i would look into that. thats where im headed for college in 2005

I got Jerry Garcia in a pouch man!!

Just do what Chong would do.

seattle, summit at snoqualmie, best skiing in the nation

TIE A STRING TO YOUR DICK AND TIE THAT TO A DOOR HANDLE AND SLAM THE DOOR SHUT, THATS EXTREME

University of Utah and Univesity of Nevada at Reno would be my top two pick for universities........i thought about going to the Mammoth Comunity college until i found out that there are only 5 classrooms there........i'm heading to Lake Tahoe Community college which is right in South Lake Tahoe and is pretty damn close to 3 nice mountains (Kirkwood, Sierra, and Heavenly)

I'd say go with SLC city area. The wasatch have been getting dumped on the last two years. They ge more snow than just about anywhere and the snow is dry. Seattle area has a lot of good schools and it is a sweet city if you don't mind the rain 270 days a year. The Cascades get a lot of snow but it is wet snow. Also with such a huge city near by the resorts get crowded. Mammoth or the Tahoe area is a pretty good place too. The Sierras get really inconsistent snow though. They will get huge dumps one week and then no snow at all for weeks at a time. Also if you haven't heard of Sierra cement you'll knw aht it is when you get there. They get wet snow like the cascade. But wet snow is probably better than no snow like in the east. Anyway yeah there are tons of good schools in the SLC area and they get the best snow problem solved.

This year I hope to see more kids incorporating newschool with big mountain riding and getting out of the park.-Matt Levintal

yea i meant university of utah. its got a nice science program goin and you only need a 2.6 to get in. Thats so sweet. The tuition is about 16 grand including room and all that shit. Thats for outta state too. Hell yea im so looking forward to school in utah. hot ass mormon chicks everywhere. hell yea

I think everyone on here has said the University of Utah, and I agree, it looks like a sick school, and everything is around 30 miles away(park city, solitude, alta, ect...), I'll see you guys out there when I transfer from the east in 07

i myself am transfering, except unlike you i am an hour from the world record holders of snowfall within a season (thats right mt. baker, wa). although, i may very well be going east - 7 out of my 10 schools are on the east coast. look you have all your life to ski - you obviously have no understanding of how valuable an education can be.

Jackson sucks, tell your friends.

Hey, if you're looking at going to college out west and skiing, or just skiing... The Salt Lake area can't be beat. I'f you're looking for quick access to the resorts from the Valley go to either Weber state in Ogden, or University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Either way it takes a bit of driving to get through the canyon. If you like the resorts further south like Snowbird you might consider Utah Valley down in Orem. All the schools are great and you'll be close wherever it's up too you.

I go to the U of U, for sure the best place to go to college. Suprisinly good parties, hot girls everywhere, oh yah and the skiing is ok. Alta kicks ass, its snows everyday fucking day!

I have no time for shinanagans, No TIME!

If you live in the dorms at Utah then it is easy. when I was a freshman I knew of somebody going skiing every day of the week. public transit sucks to get to the resort. you just have to meet people in the fall if you don't have a car. that is another good thing. it makes you get out of your room and make some friends, but cause tons of people ski and ride it isn't hard to meet people who are there for the same reason as you.
