I'm not sure if it works for pc to mac, but the go to program for data transfer in the mac world is called "Migration Assistant".

It comes loaded on your mac.

If it doesn't work, then I do not know.

really? didnt know that. well ill try it when my new mbp comes tomarrow in the mail.

anything else. sugguestions ???

If you want to be able to swap your external HD between Mac and Windows then it needs to be formatted to FAT32 - you should be able to check that now in Windows. If it's NTFS just now you need to back it up, format the drive then load your stuff back onto it.

If you want to keep the Mac running nice get TechTool Pro and run it every now and again.

You'll learn everything else as you go.

Yes yes yes that will do it

Most of your files should convert without a program. Except for some AVI and EXE files

yeah my external harddrive is ntfs...and its ready to go with everything currently backed up...just need help switching or finding out how to tell if its formatted right. any tips on that ????
