Trampolines + Insurance = WTF???

I had my parents almost ready to let me buy a trampoline for this summer until my dad looked into insurance and found all sorts of problems. Apparently, most homeowners insurance companies don't cover trampolines and the ones that do increase rates a ton.

Now my parents are actually pretty reasonable so I'm not doubting their judgement, but I am wondering why the hell you see so many trampolines around town. If you can get nailed with a lawsuit if a trespasser gets hurt on your trampoline, why do so many people have them? I find it hard to believe that it can be overlooked this easily.

How has this worked out for anyone with a trampoline still living with their parents?

first off, this belongs in non-ski gabber. ... but, if you friend gets hurt he probably wont sue you cause hes your friend, and if someones trespassing and gets hurt they were breaking the law by trespassing so i doubt they would sue either. The extra insurance is pretty useless

Sorry about putting in Ski Gabber- my bad.

If someone is breaking the law for trespassing we can still be liable for their injuries. Google it- their have been tons of cases in which this has happened.

my neighbor was being robbed and the guy broke his leg in a whole in their yard

he sued them and got 10k nbd

fuck America legal system

Are people actually surprised by this. Your best friend won't sue you but you can bet your balls that his insurance company will sue you. That's how shit works. And as mentioned before, someone trespassing will still sue, even though they were in the wrong. You own it you're liable.

this is true, it depends on where you live and how likely it is for someone to break in and jump on your tramp. mines in my backyard so ive never had any problems with it. but i have sure as hell bounced on a lot of trampolines people put in their front yards
