Trampoline Protection?

With the off season approaching, one of my goals is to spend a lot more time on trampolines getting better air awareness. Last January I sprained my ankle real bad and missed an entire month of skiing to recover. Is wearing ankle braces okay on a trampoline? Will that stop ankle roll? Or break my foot?

Just wear a simple brace that prevents rolling. I’ve had severe ankle problems with soccer and had to wear a brace on both ankles for the rest of my career and you completely forget that their there. U can get good ones at like a CVS or Walgreens and I can’t tell u how many times they saved me during games. I’m imagining wearing them on a trampoline and I wouldn’t see a problem with it. Use on that is just simple with Velcro straps not ones that tie up with laces that may be too much.

Might be a good idea if youve had ankle problems in the past. I dont see wearing one interfering with you on the tramp.

My ankles mever gave me problems rwaly so never tried it though

Look and see if there are any gymanastic centers in your area that have open gyms. I was always sketched out by trampolines and this local gym had two sessions at night on tuesdays and fridays where you could use the whole facility and mess around. I'd try stuff into the foam pit then land it on the tramp after I got the rotation down. As far as your question to due with ankle braces I feel like it wouldn't do anything and may help you land.

you could also just wear vans hi tops and do them up really tight. will keep ur ankle more or less secure and won't kill your tramp

I have always been advised against using ankle braces on tramps due to the decreased mobility of the ankle with a brace, and how the ankle naturally absorbs bounces.

Ps I’m not a doctor so feel free to correct me if I am wrong

Wear ski boots. It make it feel like your skiing, however be warned it make cause you to tear right through your trampoline to a painful death.

If you have a habit of fucking up your ankles on tramps, then go for it. Wear a stiff brace. Not one of those foam ones.

I will add that wearing braces for the rest of your athletic career is frowned upon and weakens the muscles that support your ankles cuz you never use them. Work on ankle strengthening exercises as well as stretches for the muscles on either side of your calf. Really helps. There's plenty of stretches and strength exercises out there. Just Google exercises and stretches.

I like to use this for those exercises. Plus it doubles as a stretch band for other muscles. https://smile.amazon.com/Stretch-FlexBand-Average-pounds-resistance/dp/B0032VK068/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1524737955&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=green+stretch+band&dpPl=1&dpID=31kSnkt4aoL&ref=plSrch

If that doesn't work, quit having noodles for feet.

There are several styles of padded covers and various waterproof canvas options available for protection of your trampoline. However, you may find a simple tarp to be adequate, depending on the weather in your area.
