Tramoline newb question

I just bought a house with a big enough yard to put in a trampoline. I want it for trying to learn inverts and might even put de-edged skis on it to practice grabs. I also need one that can at least take me, and I am 200lbs. I was thinking about 3m by 2m. Do I need a bigger one? Is a "familly" one fine, or should I get a upmarket one? Thanks

I know the olympic ones are best but I am wondering if I can do basic inverts and grab practice without going all out and buying one. I would rather get by on a smaller one, both for cost and storage (it will be at a mountain house and have to be stored in winter...)

For one your a fat ass... And any kind of edges and trampolines don't mix. Also, you can't do shit with skis on while on the trampoline because you can't get enough bounce. But anywho I'd say go with a trampoline that has netting around it.

get one that looks sturdy and doesnt have cheap springs and it also has really good padding

Any tramp will work for sure. Find one that has the best bang for the buck. You dont need an olympic one to work on tricks. I wouldnt recommend using de edged skis on that shit though, that just sounds dangerous lol. Just grab your feet haha. Misties/BioSpins are really easy tricks to do on a tramp by the way. Work on 360's alot to to start out with too, making them really slow and steeze.

hahaha, I should also say I am 31, over 6' tall and a former pro kickboxer, so I may be heavy but not that fat (although age and a desk job is catching up). I know skis kill the bounce, but I have seen small skis and snowboards used on tramps for grabs. I still don't know if a regular tramp would be enough for what I am looking for...

Well also consider the town you are moving intp, sometimes they have gymnast buildings with a profressional tramp to use if you join their club or whatever, just an idea

It depends on how much money you want to spend

for

1000-2000$$ you could get a really nice(professional) tramp i bet if you looked hard enough that would easily support you

For any less you will get a 'family' one probably that will do the job, it might not have as nice as a 'bounce' as the pro ones but they work fine. Personally i would not use skis on a tramp ever, it just sounds bad for your knees and landing backseat would hurt like a bitch. Seriously, you can work on grabs without skis, just imagine the ski is there hahah

does it disturb anyone else that 31 is considered old age around here? they say you're in your athletic prime in your mid 30s.

how is he risking his neck. he just wants to improve like everybody else. I think its awsome how older people are getting into newschool skiing.

Hahahha, this site does make me feel old. I wouldn't say I am "kicking it" just wanna improve, like you said. I am mostly a big mountain skier and do a couple of heli trips a year (in fact I am off to greenland in a week) but I like to fool around in the park on the off days. All I can do are 1's, crappy 3's, and grabs. As for the skis on a tramp, this photo was taken in a tramp centre here in Japan http://www.x-tech.co.jp/images/index01L.jpg . I would go there to practice but it is a long drive.

u can lyk jus make sum tramp skis out of cardboard n den jus sellotape sum old shoes on to em and ur dun. dnt make them to long tho bcoz they flex like crazy n sorta break.

Ya i need a tramp too, i'm soon to be 26 but i wanna learn off axis spins, kinda wanna get the feel on a tramp first. If you wanna use your skis maybe grab a shitty pair and go crazy on the edges with duct tape, thats what we used to do to a friends snowboard and that never ripped the tramp. I would imagine you need a big tramp for real skis to jump well on.
