Touring Skis for Snowboarders?

I just heard about these fold up touring skis made by MTN-Approach. They have a non-removable skin on the bases. They come with a backpack that is specially made for the skis to fit into. They only sell them together for $795. I thought they were a cool idea for someone who snowboards, but a bit unnecessary considering the price and having split boards and snowshoes that are much cheaper. What are your guys thoughts on these. Legit or Not?

Repost.

Seriously though, can you actually imagine snowboarding down with those things on your back? Along with your avy gear, and other necessities for an outing?

Splitboards are the way to go.

The only thing I could see a purpose for those would be in-bounds hike to rather than bootpacking.

But most resorts are starting cat operations now. Just get a splitboard, no purpose in snowboarding with a pair of skis strapped to your back.
