Touring around Calgary

Hey everyone,
I'm just getting into touring and looking for more places to go. Where do you go for a daytrip from Calgary? So far I have only been to Bow Summit area, but I'm looking for more. I know there are spots in Kananaskis but where exactly? Or any other ideas? Thanks!!!

go to fortress mountain in kananaskis, it is lovely for touring. also go to tgr for this, way more legit skiers there

Go to MEC. By Summits and Ice fields by Chic Scott (Bilble for touring around here). Buy Avalanche awareness book thats next to it.

Yes I've got the Chic Scott books, they are super helpful but sometime it's hard to tell what is really good and what isn't from the descriptions.
We went to black prince today since all the other highways were closed. It was pretty awesome! Super deep, and steep enough to be fun. Yesterday was Storm Mountain which was also nice. Loved how the trees have been thinned a lot due to fire and the clearcut "ski run" where they took down the deadfall is good too. If only it was a few degrees steeper!
Fortress would be sweet, but with the access road closed, how would you get there? Tour all the way up? It seems like a long hike in to get there.

Really close look at K country. Highwood pass is sick early and late season when the pass is open (it closes part of the winter) I got my first day there on Sept 21st. You can also access the Rae glacier from there.

If you can get a hold of a sled, me and my buddy just fouind some sic potential stuff on Saturday at Cateract Creek. Stuff you can sled to the bottom but would have to skin up. Tho be careful right now, it was bad wind loading and we heard a big slide go off (pretty sure it was human triggered)

Turtle rock really isn't a touring destination. It's on the backside of Standish chair. We did it last season without even needing touring gear. We just sidestepped for 40 minutes or so.
This is all you're getting:

if we would have had skins you could bag that thing atleast 10 or 12 times in a day. its a super short, mellow hike and can be a fun decent.
