Tough Decision

Alright, here's the deal.

I am about to switch to the mobile service provider Sprint because fuck Verizon.

I currently have a Samsung Note 4, but have a MacBook Pro which does not connect to my Samsung cause of Apple's dumbass closed interface.

I have to turn in my current phone to Sprint to get my new one, so I could possibly get an iPhone 6+ or just get another Note 4.

All I really use my phone for right now is to take pictures, look up addresses for my job, and texting/calling, snapchat and music(Spotify and the default music app). The only time I really ever used the S Pen was when my touch screen got fucked up and only the S Pen sensor worked, so it wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't have it anymore. I rarely use the multi tab screen function.

I'd like the iPhone because of the better picture quality, and the ability to actually be able to connect my phone to my computer and work with it through there.

-I'm not totally sure how iMessage works so could someone explain that? Can you still use it without WiFi?

So if someone is another country, and sends me a message through iMessage, would I be able to view it without having WiFi.

My data through Sprint would be unlimited, so I wouldn't have to worry about that at all. Especially since I only get 2GB of data through Verizon which is some bull shit considering how much data snapchat and maps use up.

I don't give a fuck that the iPhone 6+ bends sometimes.

As an android fan, sounds like an iphone would work best for you as you already have a mac and want to take good pictures.

go iphone, imessage cannot be used when all internet usage is turned off (wifi included). but it's cool because you can text on wifi, and group texts seem 10x easier on iphones

If you want a bigger screen then get the 6 or 6+. Otherwise I would get the 5s. Better buid, almost identical specs in terms of things that are actually noticable. I dunno, seems like a waste of $100 or $200 for such little things.

So I would still be able to use iMessage if I didn't have WiFi but my data was still on?

I don't think I would enjoy having such a small keyboard, I have small hands but I already fuck up texting and the smaller keyboard wouldn't help.

iPhone or bust. i don't care what anyone says if you already own a MBP it makes synchronizing everything so much simpler.

The 6+ is massive. I prefer a smaller phone but the Iphone seems like the right choice for you. The droid turbo is another sick phone that I would look into if I were you.

Did you at all read my post? One of the main reasons I would get an iPhone would be for the ability to actually plug my phone in and connect.

With my Note 4, I have to take out the SD card, plug that into an adapter, plug the adapter into my computer, and then manually drag shit into the file. THEN AFTER ALL OF THAT, I have to redownload all of my Spotify music on my phone because it was connected to the SD card. All of which takes around an hour of non-stop downloading, which requires WiFi. I don't have fucking time for that.

Download airdroid on your computer and you dont even have to plug your phone in to connect an android

i used a program called Android file transfer on my mac, it works well enough for me.

Do I just search Airdroid in the app store?

i dont remember if its in the mac app store or if you get it off their site or something. If you download it on your phone first it gives you instructions i think

Definitely iPhone. The 6+ is a little on the big side but if you're used to a note than its fine. iMessage works with either wifi or data and it's really well made. Most of my friends have iPhones and since iMessage doesn't count as texts on your bill it will say you barely texted at all. I think mine for the month says I've sent 62 texts total as they have all been in iMessage.

The synchronization between my MBP and my iPhone is amazing. All my texts, emails and even phone calls go to my computer if I'm using it. And I can be typing something on my phone and then just go straight to the Mac and pick up right where I left off. I mean I'm sure android has something similar but it just works so seamlessly with the iPhone and MacBook.

The spotify app on the iPhone is also really well made. And it's very easy to use and get all your songs where you want it to be.

I'm not at all a hater of android or Samsung, they have some incredible phones. But for me, and it sounds like for you too, Apple is just exactly what I need.

imessage is the exact same thing as message+ that you had with verizon, but only between iphones, personally i hated it bc it doesnt work with other phones
