Alright so lets say your in a situation where you have to chose between two options. both of them being free.

1: Nordica: free bindings and boots. Ace of spades for skis. They are a bit too tall for your liking (170) and seem a bit wide for your liking.

2: liberty LTE skis. You have owned an older pair and they were your favorite skis ever. they are the perfect size and you know that your most important gear is exactly how you want it. On the downside your boots are wrecked and you need bindings by the end of the season.

who do you chose?

well, boots are very important. I rather ski small ski whit good boots then wrecked boot whit good ski. Thats me

new variant, your realy realy picky on skis and a few pairs in the past have ruined your season.

and you can always get the rest of the gear for cheap at your shop.

I was talking about short skis for rails, personally i also like longer skis, but it doesnt really matter.

Get the skis you really want. Boots are not as easy as just getting a pair unless you want to buy liners to make them fit.

The boots should be your most inportant choice. Work out with a good boot fitter and get those. Ski wise get what is cheap and you like, chances are if you ride hard the skis will be done after a season anyway.
