My torrent files are downloading reallly slow, and i haerd if you forward some ports on your router they'll download alot faster. I searched the search bar, and they pretty much just told me i should. Not how too. Anyone willing to help me out?

Hmmm, I have honestly never heard of that.... strange. Torrents just go slow, you'll be lucky to get anything over 10kbps.

hahahahahahhahahahahahaha man your torrent life must suck rowen....

It all depends on how many people you are connected to. The more seeds and the more peers, the faster you will download.

Also, it depends on your internet connection, a faster one will suck more upload from everyone and it will go really fast. If you have 10 seeds, 15 peers and a fast connection (8mb/s and up), you can expect close to 1 mb/s, and 50 kb/s with very few connections.

if it's not dling at all you can open other ports or atleast my friend told me to do that, but i dunno about it going any faster

a .torrent file is a a piece of info that you download of a tracker site such as torrentspy.com. This isnt the actually file but info telling the applaction such as utorrent or bitlord what files to download off other people. Then the app downloads tiny pieces off many diffent people at once. You can get very high download speeds ( i have gotten 500kbs)and a lot of large files can be downloaded such as movies tv shows and games. As far as the orignal quesion i recommend this site http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

so i download a torrent thing then i go to bittorrent.com or sumitn and download stuff from there?

Really??? Reallllly? Are you serious? Thats not good man. My torrents go anywhere from 300kbps to 1.5mbps

pretty sure lime wire isnt a torrent and most of my torrents are pretty fast. big and small ones alike

no, limewire is not a torrent system, you need to download azereus just google it you'll find it

there are a lot of bittorrent sites isohunt.com is best for music and mininova.org is the best for movies and such

how fast they go depends on the seed/leechers ratio
