Torin Calling out comp skiing?

After his second qualifying run Torin, during his interview said something about how he did not think he should have to do two doubles during qualifying, and he thinks it is to much, and just kind of ridiculous that people are doing those doubles.

What are your thoughts on this. Do you agree that the qualifiers should be more low key, or do you think that we should always try to progress the sport even if it is just qualifiers.

He literally said the same thing last year, called out kevin for doing two doubles.

people usually play it safer in qualifying, but these days two doubles in a pipe run is safe. Can't stop progression

Their should be a rule against 2 dubs in pipe qualifying, that bidness ain't chyll yadda I mean— Torin Yater-Wallace (@TorinWallace) January 23, 2014

Don't necessarilly agree but, I guess he knows best.

If you're doing a competition you should expect it to be competitive at all levels. Yes, it's probably a pain in the ass to have to throw down in qualifiers but there are other people there that want it more than anything. Skiing has gotten to a level where only the best qualify and the best of the best win.

I think it's stupid for them not to save the dubs till after qualifiers but if one person starts doing them then that is what they need to do to qualify...

They do what is necessary to make it in to finals. There is so any that want's it now.

I really feel that Mike deserved the finals over Torin this time, his run was just better.

torin literally gives zero fucks, he just bumps rozay, lays down amazing runs and im perfectly fine with that.

So Torin is becoming the anti David Wise. After his post-run interview last night I'm now definitely going to root for him this weekend and next month.

Torin and Blunck did the same run. Blunck didn't make it. That was a ripoff.

Blunck's run won the Copper Grand Prix. Can anyone explain to me why a dub 12 and 2 10's shouldn't make finals? and EVERYONE knows he would step it up for finals.

Also herd Steele and Pete Arneson were not in the panel last night. The 2 guys that know the most. Way to go Xgames

Agreed. Chatting with him a little last night he was pissed at first but when he got an hour out he didnt care. Gonna enjoy his week in aspen and focus on the olympics now. It amazes me how Aaron has stayed so humble but hungry to this point. The kid is primed to do big things!

What torin said is stupid. If they were not aloud to do 2 doubles in qualifiers, then it would allow for people that dont have the potential to throw 2 or even maybe 1 double to get in, and i know that would make runs be more chill and in a way more fun to watch, but it would also limit the progression. IMO kinda how moguls went downhill, rules limiting tricks.

David Wise throws Double Twisters and Spread Eagles on almost every hit in his warm up runs. I'm pretty sure that is too much for most people to handle as well. We need to regulate warm ups for sure.

I think he was calling out the pipe riders who train all the time only doing right dub 12 and left dub 12, which is sick, but other than that they don't have a huge back of tricks.

Totally agree, skiing is turning into tops that spin on all axis.

I call for the mandatory straight air!
