i used plywood, and just rubed some snow into the grain just before i used it, then hit it and you wouldnt need to put more snow on.

Lexan is way too big to buy through Ebay... shipping costs will kill you.

Talk to professional sign makers, the kind who make plastic signs. Lexan is the material used to make most commercial signs and chances are, the sign company may have a couple old samples they don't want anymore, scrap lexan pieces and/or failed print/paint jobs. Usually, they'll just hook you up or at least sell you the material for very cheap. Thats what I do when I am looking for lexan, and all my box surfaces look pretty dope too.

Some people are trying to snowboard here!

Oh I get it. Sorry to ruin your day.

wood. but maybe im just cheap. so why not use like 2 pvc tubes like a double rail.

i got in a car crash, got shot at,and attacked by a fucking bobcat. cross country is boring.

maybe try altra decking the plastic 2'x4' stuff. its not that expensive. i can't say for sure that it works for skis though,I have only used it for wakeboard sliders. its made out of recycled milk jugs, and its pretty dense/slick, although it might get gouged easly. also make sure to sink the screws below the surface. wood works if its cold and frozen.

puck board is really good, and really cheap, there;s a shiny side and rough side, ill leave it to you to figure out which side to slide.

you can get lexan real cheap or free if there are any sign shops around you. I used to work are one and whenever we changed teh faces in a multitenent sign (ie mall sign) the faces are made from lexan. we used to though out a 20 yrd dumpster a year. Any sign installer or manufactur should have some in there yard. We used to give it away.

If you are willing to go a little further for quality.... don't settle for plexi. it really sucks becaue if it's not really cold out it's really sticky. REALLY sticky

-Lauren

I dropped out of high school to ski.

Lexan is NOT the way to go for topsheet on a box. Lexan has the tendency to absorb moisture very easily and when it does it starts to warp and sorta bubble up, thus becoming shitty. Lexan is also extremely expensive. High Density Polyethylene (HDP) is the best material to use. It's usually available at any company that carries a large selection of raw plastic sheeting. It is very slick and durable, and like 1/3 the cost of lexan. FYI: Lexan is a brand name, not an actual material. It is a certain type of acrylic sheeting.
