Top Gear US?

Thoughts?

personally i think it will not be as good and it will be a more redneck version of the show, and it doesn't look nearly as funny, and you can't have top gear without the stig, so i dunno what they will do
 
Seems like they have the car and challenge part down. But what makes the British version so tight is the banter between the hosts and the interviews with British celebrities that I have never heard of.

I would watch it, it takes a few episodes or even a season for TV hosts to get comfortable then it could be pretty funny and entertaining.
 
Even though I am going to tape every episode, simply because I love everything Top Gear, I have 2 complaints really. Yea were going to see badass cars, already covered by the og series. Cool whatever get to see them again. And I have the feeling of an american comedy show rather than a sports car show.

Oh and no Stig.
 
thats what i got from it too. Hammond may and clarkson have been working together for what, 15 series now? Of course they're going to be better together than these 3 who are just starting. I'll probably still watch both though.

But i love that if men with british accents do it, it's hilarious and outrageous. Americans do it...rednecks. That challenge actually looked quite funny.
 
Its not accents that do it, its just the sense of humour as a whole. Americans don't have a British sense of humour, and they can't hope to recreate it... So all Top Gear US is going to be is a bunch of rednecks driving shitty American cars around all day.
 
Whyyyyyyyyyyyy would anyone try to recreate perfection? What the fuck were they thinking? I do love the guy from Rescue Me though. He's fucking hilarious.
