What would u put up there?

1. Mammoth

2. Whistler

3. Snowbird

4. Alta

5. Breck

I dont know about the other 5

but no way should DEER VALLEY be up there.

Yeah true, but it's only really busy on weekends and holidays, most of the time it's really not that bad.

A plus side to all the people is the great parties at Tremblan.

Those are all good mountains but you have to realize, your probably picking atleast 3-4 of those for park, Ski Magazine is for a huge array of skiers, and rates mountains based on which can best accomodate every skiers needs! And i agree with the list, because unlike most of newschoolers, i like to spend more than 75 percent of the day outside the parks...

and to add on, for all those Utah kids hating on colorado, this really must say something!

Jackson

Alta

Whistler

Fernie

Crested Butte

Or something like that, in no particular order. So basically their top 10 is a total load of crap unless you wear a mink jacket and crack open a bottle of $200 wine after every day of skiing.

breck isnt that great of place. its super flat, lots of tourists. only go there for park. vails not all that either, there are so many catwalks to get around

seriously you must be joking....

Jackson, Whistler, and Crested Butte all fall into the "Rich category" But for the most part which ski resort doesn't? I mean its bascially the same at most resorts. You've got the rich people, the locals, and the tourists. So sorry to say, I may not agree with their top few...but its not a load of crap dealing with mink jackets and $200 bottle of wine.

no way, ive been there before, and i hated it casue they only have slow double chairs, but the terrain is good

Okemo should not be on that east coast list. There are very very few actually difficult trails there, and its madddd crowded there all the time

Holiday Valley?!??!?! They're not even top 5 in NY, and every VT mountain owns them, they should not be on the list.

Here's how it should go:

1. JH

2. Snowmass

3. Alta

4. CB

5. Snowbird

6. Silverton

7. Vail

8. Steamboat

9. Park City

10. Loveland (woot woot)

This doesn't take into consideration Whistler, Mammoth or anywhere in the PNW, as I haven't been there to experience these spots, but this top 10 will keep you busy for years.

Not to mention all the bc that is accessible from those listed.

Horrible fucking ratings. A better title would be Top Ten Resorts for the 40 year old with kids who still wants to be a ripper.

How could they not include anything from California?

Mammoth and Squaw would be on any accurate list of top ten resorts.

They may fall into the "rich" category, but not nearly as much as places like Breckenridge would. I know at Jackson if you at least close your eyes on the bottom 200 yards of the mountain there's a chance that you won't see a moose-shaped hat or a person in spandex pants and sunglasses. Kick ass skiing can compensate for over development, but a lot of the "nice" resorts have mediocre terrain and a small town at the bottom of the mountain.

Deer Valley should be off the list. The skiing is mediocre compared to the resorts around it. It is just expensive.

tremblant is not that busy if you get onto the other side of the mtn without the gondola, i am not sure if i would call it number one though, its deffinetly up there though

vail sucks.when cressted butte and telluride get good seasons they are both definantly above vail

and so is aspen. vail sucks. too crowded overskied and overhyped

ski magazinne is for families and yuppies. that top ten looks like a top ten yuppie list. here is the true top ten from a tahoe perspecctive.

1 whistler/blackcomb

2 squaw

3 alta

4 crested butte

5 mammoth

6 snowbird

7 alpine meadows

8 kirkwood

9 brecknridge

10 sugarbowl

so true, when the south side park is set up good, nothin beats skiing a sick line down the entire park then getting on the high speed quad without waiting in line

here's my top 10

Laax

Tignes

Grindelwald

Hoch Ybrig

Val d'sere

Lenzerheide

Flums

Andermatt

Gstaad

ok not ten but nine

I think it was top 10 in North America. For some reason, they never rank resorts in Europe, S. America, etc. I can certainly speculate as to why (see my post above)

WHistler, Snowbird, Alta, picked for park? i dont think so.

but prolly breck and mammoth. but i like mammoths skiing outside the park, place is huge.

apparetnly not... and sorry bro, don't get me wrong...but ski magazine gets read alot more than freeskier or freeze did. No i'm not a guppy lovin hippie, but you gotta face the facts that resorts are a business...and business is about money. You can't have a ski area soley based upon park skiing (yes I ski park just about all the time also) you have to have an all around environment, for the family, the locals, the kids, and the average person. Think about it bra
