In no particular order. These are just a few off the top of my head.

1.) CR and Candide in first ever Winter X Games half pipe

2.) Shane skiing down that huge AK face in water skis

3.) Seth flips off everything in Ski Movie II

4.) Mike Douglas opens box of first ever “twin tip” skis from Salomon

5.) Tanner Hall’s huge hip hit in War

6.) Teddybear Crisis

7.) Tom Wallisch zero spin at Hood

8.) Edollo nose butter triple at X Games Big Air

9.) Jon’s Kangaroo Flip (aka doubles)

10.) Peter O's Whiskey Flip in halfpipes (aka doubles)
 
was far from the first ever xgames pipe comp.. just the first one with specialized skis... but yeah, CRs's qualifying run was an absolute game-changer.
 
SInce ~2005 til the present, when I first started to get really into skiing, here are a few that stand out to me in no particular order:

-Corey Vanular's rodeo disaster onto a flat-down in Keystone's area 51

-Candide's 810 on at one of his own invitationals

-Candide's invitationals

-TJ Schiller's switch 1440

-The introduction of Jon Olsson's Kangaroo Flip to freeskiing

-Various crashes (Tanner Hall at Chads gap, Simon Dumont overshooting, Derek Spong)

-Tom Wallisch, his superunknown, and the introduction of 4bi9

-The development of traveling circus

-Arman Dzidzovic and Dhane Knakkergaard

-The olympics, for stirring up so much controversy and disagreement within freeskiing

I would have to say JF Cusson's switch 720 in the first x game big air was pretty ground breaking. I would post the video, but apparently the anal retentive assholes at ESPN have pulled the video even though all they do is mothball great old footage like this.

Truth be told that switch 7 was uglier than sin, and still one of the best things to ever happen for park skiing.
 
Exactly. Honestly I rather ski people throwing down in the backcountry/urban than i would kike to see people throw slopestyle/superpipe runs. Unless its torin. Id go gay for him

Can't think of ten, but here's 5:

1.) T-Hall obnoxiously ranting and calling out his fellow athletes. (Pick any of the 100 times)

2.) Henrik Harlaut barking at the camera and thanking Jah/Wu/Biggie for his successes as a Swedish, white free skier.

3.) The tall tee epidemic that hit the park scene.

4.) Granting 13 year olds access to keyboards/NS

5.) And of course, WU TANG and its contributions/obcious relevance to the freeskiing culture!!

i wouldn't say this matters cause op is asking since freeskiing began not top 10 moments since you started free skiing. ex i have been freeskiing for 5 years and i am 18 but i know there were events befor my time that had far greater impact on freeskiing.
 
are you kidding? it's a totally opinionated question, age has everything to do with it. younger people are going to be way more heavily impacted by recent events compared to people who have been around the sport for a lot longer.
 
i dunno i think no matter how old you are there are just certain event in freeskiings history that will effect every freeskier in the same way.
 
so candide hitting that hip straight on at superpark in 02 affected you that profoundly as a six year old? it's no crazy feat by todays standards but probably the craziest thing i'd ever seen to date at the time

yes. in the way i ride now. if we didnt have guys doing all that shit back in the day we wouldnt have people doing what they are doing today and i wouldnt have gotten into freeskiing.
