Top 10 best small towns

I wouldn't even consider most of those "small towns" let alone call them "towns". Anything over 10,000-15,000 is a city imo.

brattleboro is really nice but there are definitely shitty parts of towns with a lot of white trash and crack heads. kinda surprised it made the list

i actually agree.

although tc pertains to an older group looking for wineries, breweries, classy dining (ie doctors, retired people, business people traveling from chicago, doctors...doctors) AND a family with kids (the great wolf lodge, cherry fest, beaches, suttons bay, empire, ect.)

while marquette is strictly outdoors and college life.

traverse city is just VERY touristy.

this, I had to drive through there a couple times to get to my old college, I only saw about half the town though.

Lake Placid should've made that list.

funny that you say this, because my aunt and uncle live in TC. They are both doctors and have 3 little kids haha. But I can say that marquette offers an ample night life, and there is actually a lot of things going on down in the harbor during the summer months... kind of like TC. I would also say that MQT is as much of a family community as TC, you just don't see that aspect of the community when your in the dorm. Give it another year and a half plus a summer spent up here working someplace in town, and you will get a really good taste of what actual community members are like, not just kids in the dorm and on campus.

Lol how is Brattleboro up there? Huge heroin/narcotics problem, trashy hicks and that godawful hippie who walks around naked in the summer. Its basically a smaller and less shitty version of Rutland.

Ellicottville, NY!

Awesome little town with two great mountains (if you want to call them that).

you're right, i really don't get out of the dorms much seeing that i dont have a car so i don't know a lot about marquette. (ive become to despise dorm life).

but like i said, the reason that tc is on the list is because it caters to tourists.

Traverse City and Petoskey are both sweet but since I'm from michigan that's a given.

I always thought cape cod was pretty dope too, and if you've ever been stinson beach in california that place is super nice.

Yeah I can't really speak for the highschool. I just take a bunch of trips down there a year and stay at my buddy's chalet.

i've had some good times in traverse city, including proposing to my wife on the beach of their property on the old mission peninsula...really nice place. hoping to move there in a few years if we can find a practice there to buy.

There are literally so many of these top 10 small towns in America lists that its stupid. My town has been on like 20 of these (Saratoga Springs, NY, bitch)

/claim

Fuck off, don't go giving away the actual cool places to live.
