Tonsillectomy

Im having my tonsils removed in about a month, just scheduled the surgery today. Apparently the recover can be brutal for adults.

Who has had this surgery over after they were a little kid? What should i expect? I know no solid food for upwards of 2 weeks
 
Doctors hold you down cut them out with rusty knives when you're awake and its gross, bloody, painful, and disgusting.
 
im gonna avoid bud because smoking seems like it would hurt. Im gonna be zonked on pills for a few days though...booya
 
had mine out when i was 17 and i ate steak the first night...but i could also be a freak of nature so dont take my word for it
 
i got mine out when i was 15 i think. i couldn't eat anything or even choke down liquids. i was terribly dehydrated and lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks, i was only 120 to start. my pain meds did nothing for pain but made me nauseous. 2 weeks after the operation i bled out in my sleep, woke up tasting something metallic at 3 in the morning. went to my sink and blood started pouring out of my mouth. i got taken to the hospital where i started puking buckets of blood. i passed out from blood loss and they had to cauterize my throat to get it to stop. i lost 1/3 of my blood that night. 0/10 would not recommend. have fun.
 
Personally I don't approve of trolling with medical issues that don't have to do with sex, you will be alright OP, Plan for the worst, but the worst wont be that bad. Vibes OP, any surgeries suck.
 
but he did just make me realize to gorge and get as fat as possible the few weeks before. Im super skinny so i dont have many reserves to go on. Before and after fat picks will be posted
