Tommy Johns Syndrome

Has anyone ever had Tommy Johns Syndrome before? If so did you get surgery for it? I just got diagnosed with it yesterday after dealing with symptoms for nearly 2 years, stems from a crash I had two years ago with what was initially a fractured elbow. I know it's not as critical of an injury for skiers the way it is for baseball players, but I definitely don't want to live out the rest of my days with it. Can it be treated without having surgery at all??

It's not exactly a syndrome... But it's in fact, painful and no fun.

The root cause is the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) tear and the reconstruction is the surgery that's performed.

Good luck bud. and vibes sent your way.

Thanks man. Yeah I know its not a syndrome but thats what most medical professionals like to call it so the phrase just stuck. Not sure if I'll need surgery or not but I don't plan on it keeping me out this winter!

You're probably going to need surgery, that aside if you get a good elbow brace. I can't imagine it would be tooo bad, skiing's worth it!

Good luck man, let us know how it plays out
