Doesnt count unless you spin out everyone knows that. Not impressed.

Imaging 400 tries later trying to spin out after you finally complete the whole rail and catching your edges.

It kinda pissed me off that seven springs closed over a month ago but still had enough snow to build a 440 foot rail

When you learn the slightest bit of how ski resorts function, you'll understand.

i remember this. i actually know Simen very well because he's local where i'm local. everyone said that he would probably break Tom's record if he had a setup like that. Simen have some wildin rail control. the setup simen took the record on was really shitty. some pvc tube that had a shit run up and jump on. and it was almost coming loose i've heard from some others. get my man simen on that rail! (if he can get time off work)

oh fuck I will nut if this is true. I love long rails so much

They posted on facebook idk. I feel like the rhing would have been cut down and other rails by now because who needs a big rail and who has the space to store it.

Idk. Ill look for said post. I dont think it was april fools news because it showed up today and i dont get the joke but well see.

I should have screenshotted. Pretty sure it was facebook and like 73 percent sure I didnt make this up.

Maybe I got too high.

You're not crazy, they posted an instagram story of a really long rail. A couple of my friends said they're setting up one of the 107 foot sections from the world record rail contraption

That seems reasonable. I couldnt find the post and couldnt remember tbe deetz. 107 feet is plenty long. Couldnt imagine them leaving a 450 foot rail somewhere on the off chance of using it again. Also like "yeah lets just move this tothe jib garden for storage "

Ive always wanted to hit a super ling rail. 30-40s are about all you find these days. Long enough but sometimes that 50+ of annoying bullshit fuxj i came off early again rail is pretty dope.

I think they are just trying to one up big boulder.

probably, the vibe I get from springs is that they only care about stuff like that and their big fancy snowboarder events with lots of money behind them. All they've posted about this year is snowboarding events and quarter pipes. I don't go there anymore anyways because PA turnpike tolls are literally highway robbery

Everyone i always talk to seems disappointed when they go compared to boulder so i always just stick with boulder trips.

I'm jealous, big boulder is 6 hrs from me and a shit load of money in PA turnpike tolls. I'll make it there someday

I hear nothing but good things about boulder. Have like the way they build over the years. Some good friends worked/ride there. Only driven by. Sometime Ill make it out.

They set up a 107 foot section. Rumored to be up next weekend. It’s really smooth and fun. I got to about 95’ and fell off on the last try of the day :(

Do you know if there has been any talk of the mashed potato meltdown? I have a hunch it’s not happening this year, I would have heard about it by now

It’s happening forsure but no one knows when. Springs has been riding the last few weekends out pretty nicely. They’ll be open again next weekend

What DB said. Going to be 21st or maybe later. But I’d say 95% it’ll be the 21st.

Boulder has an all time vibe to it, very similar to a skatepark and is loaded with features that are constantly being switched out. The only downsides for skiers at boulder is a lot of the features are built and designed by/for snowboarders along with the weather being sketchy at times. This still doesn’t stop boulder from being easily one of the best in the east.

Definitely make a trip.

Some features and ways theyre setup play more to skiing or boarding but I think sometimes people read too much into it.

This. I dont think ive ever seen a feature at boulder that skiers cant do stuff on. Sure you might not be doing your standard tricks but you gotta start to think outside the box.

Definitely people read too much into it. Even sketchy stuff like chain can be slid on skis. Most rails I see these days actually look harder to do on a snowboard. I couldn't image front boarding a tight donkey dick.

I literally thought I was dreaming when I saw the post abt the meltdown this weekend. I didn’t get to go the last day and was super bummed, and ever since I’ve been thinking nonstop how badly I want just one more day. Haha my dreams have come true.
