Tom Wallisch Memorial Day Weekend Rail Jam at Wisp - May 23 '09

The last 4 year, this weekend has been tradition for me to cart the kid 4 hours to Wisp. I was worried that Tom had grown up and past the whole returning to your roots thing. Wrong again!

This year promises to be bigger and better than previous years. There

is a good pile of snow insulated under a layer of hay, hopefully

sufficient for 3 or 4 boxes - depends on the amount of melt.. plenty

should still be around by the time May 23rd comes around.

The final arrangements are still being made. Red Bull is stopping by,

an excellent line up of awesome prizes for different categories and

cash prizes for the open class?! Lots of swag, hell - I'll be there

with NS stickers! If skiing with Tom, Steve and some of the other

regional celebrities (brogan, seanyJ, nips) isn't good enough, there

plans to be a cookout along with wakeboarding in the afternoon.

Hopefully even a band this year. There numerous other activities

available, Diglers slides, mountain biking, yeah the list is long...

hahhaha yeah.. that's kind of a mistake on my part. He gets enough hype on his own. I was thinking of the regions' kids who get around Nationally - Actually i feel bad, I forgot one. Noah Killen from Seven Springs who just won 3rd at the Jib Academy finals in Mammoth a couple of days ago.

Was at wisp this weekend for some dh biking (which was sick), and they had a good sized mound of snow. Dont know if this will be the set up, but they had a rainbow box, 2 flat boxes, and a flat rail all right next to the mound. Should be fun but Im not going to be able to make it.

Are non competitors going to be able to hit the setup at all? I am not good enough to bother entering, but wouldn't mind hitting the setup a couple of times.
