Tom Wallisch in the backcountry?

Hello everybody, I’ve been thinking of driving up to Mount Bohemia and was wondering how my park/all mountain ski’s would hold up. Mount Bohemia is the only semi-true backcountry experience in Michigan and recieves a ton of snow. I have a pair of Tom Wallisch 2019 mounted back a little for all mountain. How will they hold up? I’m assuming I’ll have to rent, but you never know. Here’s a picture of a run:

I think they would be ok. I go to school up at Michigan tech and am at boho most weekends, my friends skis his magnus 90s every time unless it really dumps and he does perfectly fine and drops cliffs left and right. Dont think renting would be worth it.

you'll be fine! people way overthink gear on NS sometimes

if it's a fat fresh pow day okay maybe you'll want something fatter but even then it's not really an issue. i'd prefer to be skiing on skis that im used to anyway

Most powder days I just use 84mm underfoot head caddys (187cm) instead of my JJ's (185cm) bc the heads are nimble asf in the trees, and I don't feel bad about beating on them if I wanna hit a drop into some sus terrain/jib rocks or something.

I like to sink into the powder more in turns, and unless it's really deep or wide open, I get the feeling that I'm floating on the powder rather than in it. If there's a lot of snow and the price is right, go for it. A lot of shops will demo skis that are way nicer for a lot cheaper than the on mountain rental options.

Will Bohemia still be open march/april? If so how’s the snow that time of year?
