My guess would be that not too many companies would want their skis in a department store. I could see maybe Salomon or Atomic, MAYBE. But most companies making skis right now wouldn't want to be in Dick's Sporting Goods I would think.

My mom was trying to go to "dickssportinggoods.com" but just put in the address bar "dicks.com"

Funniest thing I think I've seen in my life.

Every time I want to look at shafts and balls, I go to www.dicks.com because it redirects to the Dick's website.

OP tried to make a joke about his mother looking at penises on the internet and failed...

Yeah it's for TNF. The bag he's stuffing in the back of the car was a Dick's branded TNF Base Camp duffle.

That and because not many people are going to go to a general sports store like dicks to buy a piece of equipment like skis. Skis cost a lot of money, people don't want to buy them from people who likely don't know much about them.

if you visit a lot of ski websites, ski commercials show up everywhere you go. it probably works with your history or something. but i know what you mean. ill be on a school website, and a armada add will pop up.

That was G.I. Joes. Miss that place. They had everything! And my uncle was a product tester for them so he just had loads of equipment that he'd hand off to me.

too bad they bought that domain name a while ago and you get redirected to dickssportinggoods.com...

I bought my first pair of skis at Dick's. They were Salomon Suspects, $130 brand new. Still don't know why they were so cheap, I remember seeing a bunch of K2's there as well for that cheap but was too young/dumb to buy them

You really think companies don't want their skis to be in a national chain that gets millions of people go to a year? Really? Why would they possibly not want to be in Dicks? They would sell more skis there than they would to all the core skiers combined.

I don't know why Dick's doesn't sell skis, but it is their choice, not because the companies don't want product in their stores.

Because people don't go to Dick's to buy skis. Would be a huge loss for Dick's to spend all that money on ski stock only to have nobody buy them. Again, people don't want to buy something as expensive as skis are from somebody who doesn't specialize specifically in skis, as the employees at Dick's don't.

The Dick's by me sells skis. End of year, they have some crazy good 50% off deals and you can stack more discounts on top of that. I've bought Rossi, Salomon, and K2 skis there before.

A few years ago they had Jesters at dicks for $99. Idk if they were mispriced or what but I was happy haha
