TOE-bang?

okay so i was out skiing the other day and every time i landed off the rail my toes would compress to the front of the boot, and it hurt, not real badly but bruised my toe. It is only my big toe that gets the bang. i have the bumble bee pro fulltilt boots. i got them last year and got them heat molded and the man who sold them to me said i would not grow out of them unless im a freak. and i dont want to buy new boots. so is there any way to prevent this from happening?

+K for answers!
this is probley in the wrong forum...

when you land backseat it jams your toes forward. not much you can do about it. don't land backseat ha. happens to me occasionally. trim your toenails short though. if they are long should help a bit

I just make sure I have the 2nd and 3rd buckles done up tight on my superchargers and I don't get toebang anymore.

This means your boots are too big. When you land backseat, your foot is sliding forward jamming your toes into the toebox. You can try tightening down the to cable but make sure your middle cable is tightened enough first. You need your heel to be secure.

already lost both toe nails and have skied 4 times this season but it happens. if your boots feel too small wear thinner socks and deal with it until they are broken in. if they are too big and you're not buying new ones just wear thicker/multiple socks.

Really the fool proof way of preventing toe and shin bang is just landing better. On a particular day if your toes are gettin it rough just try to land switch most of the time.

Tighten that middle buckle, it's the most important buckle on the entire boot and needs to be pretty much as tight as possible, this will stop your foot from moving forward as much. Also, try and and with your weight a bit more forward, with your knees over your toes, it'll help a lot too.

It is entirely possible that this is an issue brought on by the boots not supporting your arches properly.

Go to your local ski shop and talk to them about it, ask if they think that SuperFeet would make much of a difference. It's likely they will. I've got SuperFeet with an extra 5mm lift under the heel, and that solved the issues of my fat ankles getting shredded to bits by moving a little against the liner and my toebang (mostly) since the arch is better supported.

When your arch is improperly supported, putting pressure on your feet flattens them out- which also means they lengthen out a bit. This induces toe bang, along with the fact that your boot may be too small in either the length or HEIGHT area. That's another possibility- if the top of your foot has too much space between it and the roof of your ski boot, you WILL slide around inside. And it will make you hurt. The footbed/heel lift way is a possible solution.

Talk to the boot guys at your local ski shop about it though, (or if your LSS is no good, go to one at or near your ski resort, they *should* know what's up). They'll be able to help you, sometimes even just by looking at the way your foot moves while you stand without boots on.
