Today I realized I'm what I hate most

Today I was in a pretty high scale area walking around in the downtown area. There was a lot of people around and I bumped in to this guy, I said sorry and he said "Yeah what ever 2012 jacket" with an eye roll. As he walked away I was like for real? I could give a fuck about what jacket I have on. Then it clicked on my way home I'm that dude on the slopes I judge people by what year and brand they are rocking. I never really realized it until today. So for this season I'm going to look past what gear people have on and not be like that asshole I bumped into.

I am both people in that situation like to me a sick jacket is a sick jacket and if some doesn't like it they can eat my ass

What an ass. Dude sounds like he should ski into the nearest avalanche. Its not right that people do that, but if you have a cool jacket rock that sht.

The thread title sounds like it would make a good linkin park song title.

As far as the thread, I rock my shit until it's destroyed. I still have a 4 square jacket I bought used for $40 in 2009 ish that I rep when I'm not working.

My boots until they completely explode to the point duct tape can't even save them.

If you're still growing or you're getting stuff for free/cheap I can see it, but beyond that there's no point in my eyes.

MAybe I'm just too poor to ever be cool lolz

The funny thing is that if you were wearing an OG Jiberish piece from five years ago the guys comment would be completely different

i have a sessions outer coat from like 2009, why buy new shit when mine is still fine, thats my take on it

Also, you can find crazy cheap deals when people sell their old shit that's still almost new to buy new shit. Then buying stuff in the spring or couple year old stuff new for cheap.

When I buy "NEW" gear I always buy last years or even 2 years ago model

Yeah, I bought a new board last year and went with a 2 year old model in the spring so almost 3 years old.

My boss was saying it was dumb, but I got it 60% off and it's the same fucking board as it would have been this year. And any changes really wouldn't have mattered, nothing was different that needed to be.

Also only bought a new board because my old version of that had the edge cracked in two places and I was welding it back together in the park shack every week. My capita had the core snapped in both ends last summer and became pretty donezo as well. Hopefully I'll ride this for several years.

I've def had years where I've gone through 3 boards in a season, but if I don't break them, I try and keep em rollin.

you were welding and edge crack every week? I find that very hard to believe on many levels.

I mean the core was obviously shot too. And I don't think it was every week. I have no idea, but it was definitely fucked.

Also lit my base on fire which was a good way to start the day. It was retirement time for that ride anyway.

I even left some edges on this board so I can turn. It's lovely

Seriously, age of outerwear matters absolutely nothing. Plus, you know you have to respect anyone who wears a Green Goblin suit, regardless of how old it is.

I've been wearing a 2013 O'neill Dimension jacket because they've yet to release anything that looks as good as that in my opinion. I don't get why people haven't grown out of their middle school "judge everyone by the brand on their clothes" stage.

"Yeah well the Jerk Store called, and they're running outta you" would have been an appropriate response.

I'm sorry, I can't believe someone actually said that to you. I wear what I get given. Generally mens and 4 sizes too big but if it keeps me warm and dry I'm not gonna say no. Screw what people think.

personally i respect people that rock older cloths. 2 reasons they have been skiing for a while and have not left our sort ( Im not talking a purple one piece old) and 2 they never spilled anything on it to cause a stain.

Suck the f'' up! I don't care what jacket I wear as long as my ride rocks than his. For sure, he'd just asked that money from his mom..

I think of it this way, Its not the gear that makes a pro its the skill and motivation. You don't need to be repping the newest gear to be sick. You just gotta have the motivation and some sticks on your feet. Who cares how old it is
