To the overly aggressive pole planters...

I'm not even sure why I care...

It irks me when I see people pole planting incorrectly, either at the wrong time/place, or way o hard, as if they are stabbing their boss or something.

Makes me want to ride up and steal them poles! They act only as a crutch to someone who does not know how to properly use them.

ugh, sorry for the pointless rant.

Oh, and to those who will inevitably tell me that we all did it at one point or another. False.

Rehtona ro tniop eno ta mom ruoy did lla ew............................

we all did your mom at one point or another

Now let's say that the roles were reversed. Say you were not a good writer (not saying you aren't) and you submitted your final paper of high school. Which would you prefer the teacher to do: a) point out that you place commas in all the wrong places and that your sentence structure is awful, then proceed to show the rest of the class your paper as how not to write or b) privately tell you how to properly use commas and how you might better restructure your sentences in the future to better communicate your point.

My guess is B. So, why not do the same on the mountain? If you see someone who is clueless on pole planting and you in fact know the correct technique, why not just mention it to them kindly in an uncrowded liftline instead of make a thread about it NS?

The Golden Rule - hey, it still works.

I did that back in the 90s so ski patrol would think for a sec that I was a snowboarder ridin through the "snowboarders only" terrain parks back then. Also thought I was cool rockin grabs on my dynastar extremes....lol...but seriously hardly anyone was doin that back then. I used to get the strangest looks....and chased out of the pipes and parks. Times they have a changed.

Zomg... like for real.

I remember getting snowballs chucked at me all day every day riding the park. Super annoying.

Fortunately I used to ride with a group of badass snowboards back then so once the snowballs and name callin started flyin they'd settle stuff down with a "naw he's legit. Watch he does grabs." haha

How often do you have to water poles? Cos i planted them in my garden a month or so ago and they haven't grown or anything.

i think its fucking hilarious when im riding up the chairlift and see people doing that! (in my opinion keep doing it! ha!) They're still stuck in the 1980s warren miller movie ages of skiing

i usually plant then proceed to flip the pole around vertically like a wheel motion and i time each sides rotation so that at the end of each rotaion its time to plant again.

its fun in the moguls
