To remount or not?

Last year I blew out the heel piece on my Bentchetlers. It ripped right out and when I took them to REI to see what they had to say about it they told me the core is shot and its too much of a liability to remount because it'll just rip out again. My problem is i love these skis, and i really want to ride them again this year but also don't know if its worth the risk of ripping them out again in possibly a worse spot and end up hurting myself. Should I move back and remount? or accept the fact that they are old beat up skis and build a chair?
 
I was in the exact same situation last season, heel piece came partially out of my pow skis and I didn't want to move them back or give up on the skis. A couple shops said they wouldn't do it cuz liability but then I found a mutual friend who worked at a ski shop and for a 6pack he filled up the holes and mounted it right back in the same spot. I know the ski loses some strength but the skis were filled with coreshots anyway so this extended the life to the point where I'd be satisfied with the life of skis if they rip out again. I used them a handful of times near the end of last season hitting rails and this year I just used them everyday for the past two weeks during heavy snow/rocky terrain in Wyoming and tbh I forgot which ski was the one that was fixed, it's been holding up great. If you love the skis I'd find someone who's down to remount
 
don't mount at REI they're pussies. go to a local shop and talk to a guy who knows what's up
