To iPhone 5 or not to iPhone 5, that is the question.

So I got an upgrade coming up and I'm unsure about getting an iPhone 5. Purely for the fact I don't know how much different they are to a 4s, and I would be about to get one of those on a cheaper contract. And the fact that you can't use normal speaker docks seem pretty annoying. What are people's thoughs?

The only reason to upgrade is for LTE. It is insane how much faster it is, esp if u have Verizon.

However, it is more of a luxury and just something cool to have, I had the 4s and only upgraded to the 5 because my mom wanted my old phone.

If I were you I would just wait till the 5s comes out.

I chose the iphone 4s just because i have so many goddamn ipod chargers and cables and iradio.

iHad to get it

Hmmm I dunno if I can wait that long knowing a could have a new phone at any point!

I thought the "s" versions where the updated ones, same handset but with all the faults ect that the normal 5 may have developed hopefully would have been sorted out.

This.

Check your coverage.

My LTE in SF is faster than my wifi. USA has a legit problem coming down the pipeline with internet bandwidth.

Im in the same boat, but I'm gonna opt for the Samsung route and get the galaxy s4 when it comes out…shit looks dope.

plus unlike the iphone it has upgradeable memory, better processing and is extremely customizable!

I read a pre-release review of it from tech radar and it is sick. it has a lot of cool new features, and bigger HD screen than the iphone

AND BATTERY LIFE

I would wait, if you want to stay with your iPhone then upgrade after the newest comes out rather than upgrading mid-cycle. The 5 is a very nice phone, but so is the 4S. Not worth going out of your way for the 5.

I see what you did there....yea I've got loads of chargers lieing around the house and in my car and speaker docks. I just feel it's a bit of a ball ache get something which uses something totally different chargers but is pretty much the same phone.

I'm gunna have a look at some other phones at this point, but I do really like my iPhone, don't know if I can bring myself to get something else.

I'm in the same boat, my 4 is about to crap out and I'm do for an upgrade. I'm not sure if I should get the 5, wait for the 5s or try out android and get the droid DNA or GS4 when it comes out.

Dumb question but can you sync and android to you iTunes library like an iPhone?

If it helps, I mostly use my phone for music, podcasts, web browsing, the camera, a few of the apps and email/call/texts

Yes, it uses google play. I'm not here to debate which is better but google play is just as easy to use as itunes on your phone.

I've been putting off an upgrade since the 4s came out, and then i said I'll wait until the 5 not im using my gf's old 4 since my droid broke and its pretty bad, after never wanting to look at a droid again the s4 was tempting. Now i might just wait for the 5s or whatever it is.

I

really fell like after this generation of phones gs4 and 5/5s, things are

really going to change especially astatically, whether it be waterproofing, break proof, full screeen phones, cured phones, bendable phones, awesome batteries....whatever it may be. I might just try to hold on to my broken phone now for another 9 months or so for the gs6/iphone 6 whatever they may be.

I was set on getting the 5, but then i found out about the htc one. Im not a huge android fan but the specs on this phone are too good to pass up on. 1.7ghz quad core, 2gb of ram..holy shit. It comes out at the end of april, fucking stoked

If youre set on apple though, get the 5 lte is worth it

Nope. Apple already had the 3, 3G and 3G-S prior to that. Sorry if this was already answered didn't read responses.

I don't know how much they've upgraded the batteries from the Galaxy S2 (I'm assuming a lot) but the battery life on the S2 fucking SUCKED. I could barely get through one school day on the battery charge while on the battery saver option that supposedly makes the phone more energy efficient or something. It sucked. I thought I used to be an android guy, but I switched to my mom's old iphone 4 at christmas time and I have had far less problems with it than those I got with my S2. Sure with the android OS you can customize the shit out of your phone, but are you really going to? I use my phone for texting, calling, facebook, and occasionally porn. I don't need a custom way of getting these, I just want them there. In this case I feel like simplicity > customization.

Granted that's just my opinion on the whole thing, but I would have to side with Apple on this one.

Plus it's a huge bitch to go through any other library besides itunes, Samsung Kies has crashed more times than it's worked for me
